The Institution is under the direction and manage
ment of a Board of Trustees, in conjunction with a Board
of Visitors appointed by the Governor of the State.
By an act of the Legislature, the Institute has bom
furnished with 140 Cadet Muskets and Accoutrements,
and a Field Battery, consisting of four six-pounder briiv
pieces, and two twelve-pounder Howitzers.
The Superintendent and the Commandant, are gradu
ates of West Point, and ns the Institute is upon the West
Point plan, the public may be assured that the govern
ment, discipline and course of studies will be strictly en
forced.
