Al thea* fever* are all of one character, differing
mainly in degree, being all of a lew grad,., the nuU'e
•mall and wiry, with u general great depression there is
ui practical u-e la separating them—at so far ns
my treatment is concerned. In these low i.. V ers, when
fully developed, a little patience will be required- still 1
comparatively little, o’ they frequently run weeks under
the common treatment, while with this but a five ,iuvs
will be necessary at longest to establish a permanent I
convalescence. ,
The treatment should be commenced—which mav 1
immediately follow uuy other without detriment—with 1
a t.iaspmmfttl of Fluid” every two hours, till the pulso

me* in six or eight hours till the fever entirely subsides.

It will not force sleep like opiate*, hut it will sooth and
quiet the system so that on*; can sleep naturally ami

To avoid constant repetition, and condense lla- treat-’
m. nt as much as possible, J give under this lqa.l general
directions for nil coses. As tho Negative Electric fluid .
will change the condition culled lover, or stfbdue and
control it under all circumstances, without regard to the
ttu tu i ‘ it umy ho or ought to ho called, it should be given
wherever or whenever it-exists; yet it cannot,be e,x- <
peeted to control all organic or local causes, which,
when Midi exist, must be removed in order to effect a
permanent cure.
When such indications occur ( dn any ease, they should
be appropriate means, and these ftohuld be given while
giving the “fluid,” and iu connection with it. when
occasion requires, as they will then more readily act.

If the bowels are costive, given cathartic (see auxili
aries) with the lirst dose, or soou alter, and should it
fail to operate in duo time, repent the dose} it attended
with dinrrlnea, give something knovyn to be good for
that complaint, though if caused r by irritability, the
“Fluid” will soon relieve that condition; if severe local
pain or inflammation, apply some stimulating liniment,
a mustard piaster, a blister, fomentations us hitter herbs,
or, perhaps, cloths wet in cold water, to the part; if
violent pain in the head, apply cold wafer, ice water,
if convenient, or some cooling application, and bathe
the feet iu hot water; if Urn fever is very high, skin
dry and hot, with great suffering, sponge or bathe the
” hole uVfaee with witter at mi agreeable temperature;
“iln -aline wash.” vinegar and Water or spirits and
“’ater, either will afford great relief and aid tin- medi
cine in inking effect, after which there will be no trou

duced ; if there is nausea and vomiting, that must be

given plentifully, will answer every purpose: when the

necessary: in short, treat all the prominent symptoms
