Misplaced Confidence.
4 short time since, a young Englishman
aained Smith, while on n visit to Wilkesbnrre,
Pena., was introduced to the cashier of the
Wyoming Bank at that place, who, supposing
liiln to be trustworthy, placed in his possession
live thousand dollars to be deposited in the j
Farmers’ and Mechanics’ Bank of Philadelphia. ;
\o tidings having been heard of Mr. Smith :
‘ince, the cashier of the Wyoming Bank came !
on to Philadelphia, on Saturday, in search of i
aim, and, from information received, there is ;
e very reason to believe that he has gone to I
England, taking of course, the five thousand i
with him.

Surveys m Utah.
We learn at the General Land Office that,
in consequence of the recent hostilities of the
Indians in Utah Territory, it was considered
unsafe for the surveyors to go on with their
work, unless accompanied by an escort to pro
tect them in case of an attack being made up
on them. — Washington Star.
Wood’s Hair Restorative.
The many testimonials in favor of this ex
cellent tonic for the hair have given it a repu
tation for its excellent properties, in restoring
the hair to its original ‘color, &c., that, in
deed, all other manufacturers might envy.
