Struck by Lightning. We are informed that the Schooner Mary Lasserre (erroneously reported in the Cieogiau Journal Mary Louisa) Captain Lnsserre, on her passage iroin Savannah to Brunswick, was struck by lightning on the 2d inst., at Racoon Keys, south of Rooinley Marsh. The lightning •truck the mainmast splitting in front the top to near the deck. All hands were severely in jured ; they lost the power of speech and were several hours in recovering. The soles were struck from the shoes of the Captain. The schooner is working her way to this port under the foresail and jib.— Brunswick Iltrald. The Army Worm. We regret to record the fact that the army Worm has made its appearance in the neigh borhood of Columbia, and is doing much in jury. Yesterday morning the ground in front of the Guard House was literally covered with them. They were busily at work de stroying every blade of grass with which they came in contact.— Columbia ( S. C.) Times. The Hair. There is nothing so becoming to either mau or woman as a good head of hair, yet we see many who. from carelessness or neglect, let their hair become so dry and frosty that it is really not fit to be seen, while, if they would only procure one bottle of Wood’s Hair Resto rative and use it, they could have as luxuriant a crop as any body else. Wood Dear Sir My hair had, Ibr several years, been be coining prematurely gray, accompanied by a harshness which tendered the constant application of oil neceaaury in dressing it. \\ hen I commenced using your Hair Re? torative, about two months ago. it was in that condition , and having continued its use till within the last three weeks, it has turned to its natural color, and assumed soft ness and lustre greatly to be preferred to those pro dueed by the application of oils or any other preparation t have ever used. I regard it as au indispensable article lor * very lady's toilet, whether to be used as a Hair Res torative, or tor the simple purpose of dressing or beauti lying tlie hair.
