COLUMBUS WEEKLY SUN. T. W. LANE AND T. DE WOLE, EDITORS. THE DAILY SUN being now established on a basis, broad enough and strong enough, to secure its per manence, we have determined to carry out our long cherished intention, the establishment of a Weekly paper. THE WEEKLY SUN, will be made up from the choic est matter of our daily; like it, will maintain a strict neutrality as to party aud creed; and like it, will contain all the latest aud most interesting received, up to the hour of going to press. On the first of September next, we shall have in suc cessful operation, liberal TELEGRAPHIC ARRANGEMENTS, which will enable us to lay before our readers the very latest news, Foreign and Domestic, Commercial, Politi cal and Miscellaneous. Wo might enlarge at great length, upon our intentions; but preferring performance to promises, we shall endeavor to have the “ SUN ” make its own way exclusively upon such merit as it may be found to possess. Before embarking in this project, which will be an ex pensive and laborious one, we desire to have some guar anty of its success. We therefore invite subscriptions and invoke the aid of our friends; and so soon as ONE THOUSAND reliable names shall be procured, the first number trill be issued aud promptly mailed. Then, but not till then, payment will be expected of all subscribers. We shall adhere strictly to the advance CASH SYS TEM, not only for our own, but our readers’ good. Eve ry reader is interested in this system: for it is tho only one by which a journal can be successfully established, and its interest and usefulness maintained. The Weekly Sun will be a large and handsome sheet, printed on good paper, aud containin'; a larger amount of reading matter, adapted both to specific and general wants and tastes, than any paper in Western Georgia,or the State of Alabama. Advertisements will not bo al lowed to encroach upon our reading matter, except to a very limited extent. Subscription Price, $2.50 per annum, invariably in ad vance. Liberal inducements are offered to Postmasters and Agents, who will interest themselves to increase our circulation —inducements that will enable men of ener gy to reap real benefit from their efforts in our behalf. There is nothing so becoming to cither man or woman as a good head of hair, yet we see many who. from carelessness or neglect, let their hair become so dry and frosty that it is really not fit to be seen, while, if they would only procure one bottle of Wood’s Hair Resto rative and use it, they could have as luxuriant a crop as any body else. Having by false repre sentations obtained credit of our merchants for dress aud jewelry to deeorate himself and wife, he was arrested by some of his creditors and held to bail. I was induced by necessity for his service in my bindery and professions of a-desire to have an opportunity to make the money to hon orably relieve himself, to become his bail. He failed to ap peur and. forfeited his bail, leaving me liable for sums in the aggregate, of over two hundred dollars. His entire debts in this city obtained under the above related cir cumstances, amount to over six hundred dollars. Having no time to waste in pursuit of this double re fined scoundrel, I offer a reward of fifty dollars for his apprehension and delivery to the Sheriff of Muscogee county, Georgia. Late revelations satisfy me that the Penitentiary is his proper place. I caution the public wherever he may go, to be on their guard against him, as he lias never been known to pay a debt. The trade every where will do well to look out for and steer clear of him. DESCRIPTION.—He is 35 or 38 years of age, five feet 10 or 11 inches in height, lias very irregular filthy look ing front teeth, and usually wears a terrier looking moustache. THOMAS DE WOLF.
