COLUMBUS WEEKLY SUN.
T. W. LAIN E AiMD T. DE WOLE,
EDI TOUS.
THE DAILY SUN being now established on abasia,
broad enough and strong enough, to secure its per
maneuce, wo have determined to carry out our long
cherished intention, the establishment of a
WEEKLY PAPEE.
THE WEEKLY Sl'N, will be made up from the choic
est matter of our daily; like it, will maintain a strict
neutrality as to party and creed; and like it, will contain
all the latest and most interesting news; received, up to
the hour of going to press.
.On the first of September next, we shall have in suc
cessful operation, liberal
TELEGRAPHIC ARRANGEMENTS,
which will enable us to lay before our readers the very
latest news, Foreign and Domestic, Commercial, Politi
cal and Miscellaneous. Wo might enlarge at great
length, upon our intentions; but preferring performance
to promises, we shall endeavor to have the “ SUN ” make
its own way exclusively upon such merit as it may tie
found to possess.
Before embarking in this project, which will beau ex
plosive aud laborious one, we desire to have some guar
anty of its success. We therefore invite subscriptions
aud invoke the aid of our friends ; and so soon as
ONE THOUSAND
reliable names shall be procured, the first number will
be issued and promptly mailed. Then, but not till then,
payment will be expected of all subscribers.
We shall adhere strictly to the advance CASH SYS
TEM, not only for our own, but our readers’ good. Eve
ry reader is interested in this system; for it is tho only
one by which a journal cun be successfully established,
and its interest and usefulness maintained.
The M eekly Sun will be a large aud handsome sheet,
printed on good paper, aud containing a larger amount of
reading matter, adapted both to specific and general
wants and tastes, than any paper in Western Georgia, or
the State of Alabama. Advertisements will not be al
lowed to encroach upon our reading matter, except to a
very limited extent.
Subscription Price, $2.50 per annum, invariably in ad
vance.
Liberal inducements are offered to Postmasters and
Agents, who will interest themselves to increase our
circulation —inducements that will enable men of ener
gy to reap real benefit from their efforts in our behalf.
Upon this point full particulars may be obtained by ad
dressing THOMAS DEWOLF.
The Hair.
There is nothing so becoming to either man
or woman as a good head of hair, yet we see
many who. from carelessness or neglect, let
their hair become so dry and frosty that it is
really not fit to be seen, while, if they would
only procure one bottle of Wood’s Hair Resto
rative and use it, they could have as luxuriant
a crop as any body else.
BLANK ATTACHMENTS.
ATTACHMENTS conforming to the late statute, cor
rectly printed on superior paper, for sale at the

FIFTY DOLLARS REWARD.
LOOK OUT FOR THE
SCOUNDREL AND THIEF,
JOHN W. BEACKLY alias BELL,
A BOOK BINDER BY TRADE,
WHO I have reason to believe is now skulking about
Russell county, Alabama. Having by false repre
sentations obtained credit of our merchants for dress and
jewelry to decorate himself and wife, lie was arrested by
some of his creditors and held to bail. I was induced by
necessity for his service in my bindery and professions of
a desire to have an opportunity to make the money to hon
orabiy relieve himself, to become his bail. lie failed to ap
pear and forfeited his hail, leaving me liable for sums in
the aggregate, of over two hundred dollars. His entire
debts in this city obtained under the above related cir
cumstances, amount to over six hundred dollars.
Having no time to waste in pursuit of this double re
fined scoundrel, I offer a reward of fifty dollars for Lis
apprehension and delivery to the Sheriff of Muscogee
county, Georgia. Late revelations satisfy me that the
Penitentiary is his proper place.
I caution the public wherever lie may go, to be ou
their guard against him, as lie lias never been known to
pay a debt. The trade every where will do well to look
out for and steer clear of him.
DESCRIPTION.—He is 35 or 38 years of age, five feet
10 or 11 inches iu height, lias very irregular filthy look
ing front teeth, and usually wears a terrier looking
moustache. THOMAS DE WOLF.
Columbus, Ga., Aug. 2, 1856. Proprietor Daily Sun.

Cincinnati Sun, and Philadelphia Ledger, will each give
the above one insertion, and forward their hills to mo

HAIR RESTORATIVE.
It Has Worked Miracles.
rpilAT ALL THE BALD AND GRAY can be restored
_L perfectly to original growth, so far as their locks are
concerned, does uot admit of doubt; besides, it win cure
every possible disease of tho scalp, whether developed as
dandruff, itching, or in the shape of cutaneous erup
tions—even scald-head—aud in no possiblo case will it
fail of curing, as if by magic, nervous or periodical head
ache, and if used twice a wuek by the young, regularly,
it will preserve the color, and keep tlie hair from falling,
to any imaginable age. Read and judge.
Logansport, la., June, 1866.

If you choose, you may Bend six dozen bottles llair Res
torative; I think I ran sell it. It has worked miracles
in this place. 1 sold a man six $1 bottles, that was bald,
and it fetched new linir out all over his head.
Yours, respectfully, M. H. GRIDLEY
C. It. R. Office, Vandalu, June 21, 1854.
PROFESSOR WOOD—
Dear Sir—l take pleasure in bearing voluntary tes
timony to the excellence of your Hair Restorative. Three
months ago my hair was very gray. It is now a dark
brown, (tlio original color,) smooth and glossy. The only
application I have made to it, lias been tlie Hair Resto
rative prepared by you. and which, from the result iu
my own case, 1 can most cordially recommend to otheis
Respectfully, yours, EDW. WOLCOTT.
Vincennes, la., June 21,1863.
PROF. O. J. WOOD—
As you are about to manufacture and vend your re
cently discovered Hair Restorative, 1 will stale, for
whomsoever it may concern, that 1 have used it, aud
known others to use it—that I have, for several years,
been iu the liahit of using ether Hair Restoratives, aud
that 1 find yours vastly superior to any other 1 know.
It entirely cleanses tlie head of dandruff, and with one
month's proper use. will restore any [arson’s hair to tho
original youthful color and texture, giving it a healthy,
soft and glossy appearance; and all this, without discol
oring the hands that apply it, or tlie dress on which it
drops. I would, therefore, recommend its use to every
one desirous of having a fine color and texture of hair.
Hesvoctfully,yours, WILSON KING.
St. bourn, June 29,1863.
PROF. WOOD—
As you are about to prepare and vend your recently
discovered llair Restorative, anil as you request my opiu
ion of it, 1 will state, that my hair was, a few months
ago, very gruy, and alter using two bottles of your Hair
Restorative, it resumed its original color; and since its
application, all dandruff’ has disappeared from my bead,
and 1 have been troubled with no disagreeable itching of
the scalp. lam satisfied that those who use it will not
regret it, as it gives tiie hair tlie appearance of having
been recently oiled. lam prepared, therefore, to recom
mend its use to all who are desirous of having a beautiful
head of hair. ( am, sir, yours, etc.
H. L. STEWART.
PROF. WOOD —
Dear Sir—My hair had, for several years, been be
coming prematurely gray, accompanied by a harshness
which lendcrcd the constant application of oil necessary
in dressing it. When I commenced using your Hair Res
torative, about two months ago. it was in that condition ;
anil having continued its use till w ithin the last three
weeks, it has turned to its natural color, and assumed a
softness and lustre greatly to be preferred to those pro
duced by the application of oils or uny other preparation
I have ever used. I regard it as an indispensable article
for every lady's toilet, Whether to be used ns a Hair Res
torative, or for the simple purpose of dressing or heanti
fylng tlie hair. You have permission to refer to me all
who entertain any doubt id’ its performing all that is
claimed for it. MRS. 0. SYMONDS,

PROF. O. J. WOOD—
Allow me to attest the virtues and magic powers oi
yom llair Restorative. Three months since, being ex
ceedingly gray, 1 puri-hascd, and soon commenced to use.
two bottles; and it soon began to tell, in restoring tlie
silver locks to their native color, and the hair, which w as
before dry and harsh and falling off, now became soft
and a nil it ceased falling; the damirnft disap
peared, and the sculp lost all the disagreeable itching,
so annoying before, and now, 1 not only look, byt feel
young again. Respectfully, yours, etc.
