COLUMBUS WEEKLY SUN.
T. W. LANE AND T. DE WOLF,
EDITORS.
| THE DAILY SUN being now established on abasia,
Rforoad enough and strong enough, to secure its per
gSmanence, we have determined to carry out our long
■cherished intention, the establishment of a
WEEKLY PAPER.
[ THE WEEKLY SUN, will be made up from the chuie-
Lt matter of our daily; like it, will maintain a strict
as to party and creed: and like it, will contain
v all the latest and most interesting news, received, up to
■the hour of going to press.
I On the first of September next, we shall have in sne
ijfc, ssl'ul operation, liberal
; telegraphic arrangements,
, Which will enable us to lay before our readers the very
jatest news, foreign and Domestic, Commercial, I‘oiiti-
and Miscellaneous. Wo might enlarge at groat
Ipength, upon our intentions; but preferring performance
promises, wo shall endeavor to have the “SUN ” make
its own way exclusively upon such merit as it may be
found to possess.
Before embarking in this project, which will he an ex
pensive and laborious one, we desire to have some guar
anty of its success. We therefore iuvito subscriptions
and invoke the aid of our friends; and so soon us
ONE
reliable names shall be procured, the first number will
be issued and promptly mailed. Then, but not till then,
payment will be expected of all subscribers.
‘> We shall adhere strictly to the advance CASH .SYS
TEM, not only forour own, but our leaders’ good. Eve
ry reader is interested in this system: for it is the. only
one by which a journal can be successfully established,
and its interest and usefulness maintained.
f The Weekly Sun will boa large ant! handsome sheet,
printed ou good paper, and containing a largeramount of
reading matter, adapted both to sp itic and general
wants and tastes, than any paper in Western Georgia,or
the State of Alabama. Advertisements will not lie al
lowed to encroach upon our reading matter, except to a
Very limited extent.
& Subscription Price, $2.50 per annum, invariably in ad
vance.
£ Liberal inducements are ottered to Postmasters and
Agents, who will interest themselves to increase our
circulation —inducements tbnt will enable men of ener
gy to reap real benefit from their efforts in our behalf.
Upon this point full particulars may be obtained by ad
dressing THOMAS DEWOLF.
The Tdair.
i There is nothing .so becoming to either man
or woman as a good head df hair, yet we see
many who. from carelessness or neglect, let
their hair become so dry and frosty that it is
really not fit to be seen, while, if they would
only procure one bottle of Wood’s Hair Resto
rative and use it, they could have as luxuriant
a crop as any body else.

FIFTY DOLLARS REWARD.
LOOK OCT FOR THE
SCOUNDREL AND THIEF,
JOHN W. BEACKLY alias BELL,
A BOOK BINDER BY TRADE,
WHO I have reason to believe is now skulking about
Russell county, Alabama. Having by false repre
sentations obtained credit of our merchants for dress and
jewelry to deeorate hiuiseli and wife, lie was arrested by
some of his creditors and held to bail. I was induced by
necessity fur his service in my bindery audprofessions id’
a desire to have an opportunity to make the money to hon
orably relieve himself, to become liis bail. He failed to up
pear and forfeited bis bail, leaving me liable for sums in
the aggregate, of over two hundred dollars, liis entire
debts in this city obtained under the above related cir
cumstances, amount to over six hundred dollars.
Having no time to waste in pursuit of this double re
fined scoundrel, I offer a reward of fifty dollars for his
apprehension and delivery to tlio Sheriff of Muscogee
county, Georgia. Late revelations satisfy me that the
Penitentiary is his proper place.
I caution the public wherever lie may go, to l.e on
their guard against him, as lie has never been known to
pay a debt. The trade every where will do well to look
out for and steer clear of him.
DESCRIPTION. —lie is 35 or 38 years of age. five feet
It) or II inches in height, lias very irregular filthy look
ing front teeth, and usually wears a terrier looking
moustache. THOMAS DE WOLF.

PROFESSOR WOOD—
Dear Sir—l take pleasure in heal ing voluntary te
timmiy to the excellence of your llair Restorative. Three
mouths ago my hair was very gray. It is now a dark
brown, (the original color,) smooth and glossy. Tlio only
application 1 have made to it. has been the Hair ltcstie
l'ittive prepared by you, ami which, from the result in
my own case, 1 can most cordially recommend to others
Respectfully, yours. EDW. WOLCOTT

As you are about to manufacture and vend your ie
cently discovered llair Restorative, , will state, foi
whomsoever it may concern, that 1 have used it, ami
known others to use it—that 1 have, for several years,
been in the habit of using ether Hair Restoratives, aud
that J find yours vastly superior to any other I know.
It entirely cleanses tnt- head of dandruff, and with oim
month’s proper use, will restore any person's hair to the
original youthful color and texture, giving it a healthy,
soft and glossy appearance; and all this, without discol
oring the hands that apply it. or the dress on which it
drops. 1 would, therefore, recommend its use to every
one desirous of having a tine color ami texture of luiir.
Respectfully yours, WILSON KING
St. Lours. June 29. 1853.
PROF. WOOD
As you are about to prepare amt vend your recently
discovered Hair Restorative, and as you request iny opm
ion of it, I will state, that my hair was, a few months
ago, very gray, and after using two bottles of your II .ii
Restorative, it resumed its original color; and since u
application, all dandruff lias disappeared from my head
and 1 have been troubled with no disagreeable iteliing ot
the scalp. lam satisfied that those who use it will not
regret it, as ii gives tlre hair the appearance of liuvin,
been i occntly oiled, i mu prepared, therefore, to lecom
mend its use lo all w ho an- desirous of havingu beautiful
head of luiir. I am. sir. voids, etc.

PROF. WOOD
Dear Sir—My tiuii had, for .ii-m-mil years, been be
coming prematurely gray uctduupaiiicd by a liuislini. -
which tendered tbe constunt application ot oil iieccre tiy
in dressing it. Winn i commenced using your Hair Re
torutive, about two months ago. ii was iu that condition ,
and having continued its use till within the hut three
weeks, it lias turned to its natural color, and assumed i
softness and 111-lie greatly to he preferred to those pio
uiiced by tiie application of oils or any other preparation
I have ever used. I regard il as an indispensable uiticiv
for every indy’s toilet, whether to be used as a Hair T. i
torutive, or fur the simple purpose of dre-sing or beai.ti
lying the hair. You have pet mission to reterto ntc II
who entertain any doubt of its performing all tiu-t is
claimed for it. MRS. C. SYMONDS,

silver locks to tlieir native color, and the hair, which was
before dry and harsh mid falling off, now became soft
