COLUMBUS WEEKLY SUN.
•f. W- LANE ARI D T. DE WOLF,
EDITORS.
I'UK DAILY SUN being now established on abasia,
i,road enough and strong enough, to secure its per
manence, we have determined to carry out our long
cherished intention, the establishment of a
WEEKLY PAPER.
t'HK WKKkLY SUN. will be made up from the choic
est matter of our daily; like it, will maintain a strict
neutrality ns to party and creed: an., .ike it, will contain
.ill the lutest and most interesting uews_ received, up to
i he hour of going to press.
On the first of September next, we shall have in sue
, essful operation, liberal
telegraphic arrangements,
which will enable us to lay before our readers the very
latest news, Foreign and Domestic, Commercial, Politi
cal and Miscellaneous. Wo might enlarge at great
length, upon our intentions; but preferring performance
10 promises, we shall endeavor to have the “ SUN ’’ make
its own way exclusively upon such merit as it may lie
found to possess.
before embarking in this project, which will be an ex
pensive and laborious one, we desire to have some guar
anty of its success. We therefore invito subscriptions
and invoke the aid of our friends: anti so soon as
OUNT.TB TIKOTJSA-Isrr)
reliable names shall be procured, the first number will
be issued and promptly mailed. Then, but not till then,
payment will be expected of all subscribers.
We shall adhere strictly to the advance CASH SYS- ;
j EM, not only forour own, but our readers’ good. Eve
ry reader is interested in this system; for it is the only
one by which a journal can be successfully established,
and Us interest and usefulness maintained.
The Weekly Sun will be a large and handsome sheet,
printed on good paper, and containing iilurgeramount of
reading matter, adapted botli to specific and general
wants and tastes, than any paper in Western Georgia,or
the State of Alabama. Advertisements will not be al
lowed to encroach upon our reading matter, except to a
very limited extent.
Subscription Price, $2.50 per annum, invariably in ad
vance.
Liberal inducements are offered to Postmasters and
\gents, who will interest themselves to increase our
circulation —inducements Hint will enable men of ener
gy to reap real benefit from their efforts in our behalf.
Upon this point full particulars may lie obtained by ad
dressing THOMAS DEWOLF.

FIFTY DOLLARS REWARD.
LOOK OUT FOR THE
SCOUNDREL AND THIEF,
JOHN W. BEACKLY alias BELL,
A BOOK BINDER BY TRADE,
WHO 1 have reason to believe is now skulking about
Russell county, Alabama. Having by false repre
sentations obtained credit of our merchants for dress and
jewelry to deeorate himself and wife, lie was, arrested by
s me of his creditors and held to bail. I was induced by
necessity for his service in my bindery and professions of
a desire to have an opportunity to make the money to hon
orabiy relieve himself, to become bis bail. lie failed to ap
pear and forfeited his bail, leaving me liable for sums in
the aggregate, of over two hundred dollars. His entire
debts in this city obtained under the above related cir
cumstances, amount to over six hundred dollars.
Having no time to waste in pursuit of this double re
fined scoundrel, I offer a reward of fifty dollars for his
apprehension and delivery to the Sheriff of Muscogee
county, Georgia. Late revelations satisfy me that the
Penitentiary is his proper place.
I caution the public wherever he may go, to be on
their guard against him, as he has never been known to
pay a debt. The trade every where will do well to look
out for and steer clear of him.
DESCRIPTION. —He is 35 or 3S oars of age. five feet
10 or 11 inches in height, has very irregular filthy look
ing front teeth, and usually wears a terrier looking
moustache. THOMAS DE WOLF.

PROFESSOR WOOD—
Dear Sir—l take pleasure in bearing voluntary t

I’ROF. O. J. WOOD—
As you are about to manufacture a"d vendyour'it a

whomsoever it may concern, that 1 have used it, aud
known others to use it—that 1 have, for several years,
been in the habit of using ether Hair Restoratives, und
tlmt I find yours vastly superior to any other 1 know.
It entirely cleunses the head of dandruff, and with one
month’s proper use, will restore any person’s hair to the
original youthful color and texture, giving it a healthy,
soft and glossy appearance; und nil this, without discol
oring tin- hands Hint apply it, or the dress on which it
drops. I would, therefore, recommend Its use to every
one desirous of having a fine color and texture of hair.
Respectfully, yours, WILSON KING.
St. Louis. June 29, 1863.
PROF. WOOD—
As you are about lo prepare and vend your recently
discovered lluir Restorative, and as you request my opili

ago, very gray, and after using two bottles of your llnii
Restorative, it resumed its original color: and since it-.
application, ull dandruff has disappeared from my head,
and 1 have been troubled with no disagreeable itching ot
the scalp. J am satisfied tlmt those who use it will not
regret it, as it gives the hair the appearance of having
been recently oiled. lam prepared, therefore, to recom
mend its use to all who are desirous of having a beautiful
head of lmir. I am. sir. yours, etc.

Dear Sir—My lmir had, fur several year:., been bv -

mid having continued its use till within Uio Inst tin r
weeks, it lias turned to its natural color, end assumed a
softness and lustre greatly to be preferred to those pro

Allow me to attest the virtues and magic poweis ot
youi Hair Restorative. Three months since, being ex

two bottles: audit soon began to tell, in restoring the
silver locks to their native color, and the hair, which was
before dry and linrah and falling off, now became soft
and jglossy, and it reused falling: the dandruff ilii-ap
pealed, and the scalp lost all the disagreeable itching,
so annoying before, and now. 1 not only look, but feel
