COLUMBUS WEEKLY SUN.
T. W. LANE AND T. DE WOLE,
EDITORS.
THE DAILY SUN being now established on a basis,
broad enough and strong enough, to secure its per
manence, we have determined to carry out our long
cherished intention, the establishment of a
WEEKLY PAPER.
THU WEEKLY SUN, will be made up from the choic
est matter of our daily; like it, will maintain a strict
neutrality as to party and creed; and like it, will coutaiu
all the latest and most interesting news, received, up to
the hour of going to press.
On the first of September next, we shall have in suc
cessful operation, liberal
TELEGRAPHIC ARRANGEMENTS,
which will enable us to lay before our readers the very
latest news, Foreign and Domestic, Commercial, Politi
cal and Miscellaneous. Wo might enlarge at great
length, upon our intentions; but preferring performance
to promises, we shall endeavor to have the “ SUN ” make
its own way exclusively upon such merit as it muy be
found to possess.
Before embarking in this project, which will be an ex
pensive and laborious one, we desire to have some guar
anty of its success. We therefore invite subscriptions
and invoke the aid of our friends; and so soon as
OUNTIE TTiOXJSA-IsriD
reliable names shall be procured, the first number will
be issued and promptly mailed. Then, but not till then,
payment wilt be expected of all subscribers.
We shall adhere strictly to the advance CASH SYS
TEM, not only for our own, but our readers’ good. Eve
ry reader is interested in this system; for it is the only
one by which a journal can be successfully established,
and its interest and usefulness maintained.
The Weekly Sun will be a large and handsome sheet,
printed on good paper, and containing a largeramuunt of
reading matter, adapted both to specific and general
wants and tastes, than any paper in Western Georgia, or
the State of Alabama. Advertisements will not be al
lowed to encroach upon our reading matter, except to a
very limited extent.
Subscription Price, $2.50 per annum, invariably in ad
vance.
Liberal inducements are offered to Postmasters and
Agents, who will interest themselves to increase our
circulation —inducements that will enable men of ener
gy to reap real benefit from their efforts in our behalf.
Upon this point full particulars may be obtained by ad.

tions—even scald-head—and in no possible case will it
fail of curing, us if by magic, nervous or periodical head
ache, and if used twice u week by the young, regularly,
it will preserve tho color, and keep the hair from falling,

Looansport, la.. June, 1865.
Messrs. O. J. YVOOD A CO.:
Gents—Yours of tho 13th came duly to hand. En
closed, please find thirty-eight dollars, it being the
amount lor Hair Restorative. I have sold it all. * *
If you choose, you may send six dozen bottles llair Res
torative; 1 think 1 can sell it. It lias worked miracles
in tliis place. 1 sold a man six $1 bottles, that was bald,
and it fetched new hair out ull over liis head.
Yours, respectfully, M. 11. GRIDLEY
C. It. R. Office, Vandaua, June 21, 1851.
PROFESSOR YVOOD—
Dear Sir—l take pleasure in bearing voluntary tes
timony to the excellence of your llair Restorative. Three
months ago my hair was very gray. It is now a dark
brown, (tho original color,)smooth and glossy. The only
application 1 have made to it, lias been the llair Rcsto
lativo prepared by you, und which, from the result in
my own case, 1 cun most cordially recommend to others.
Respectfully, yours, EDYV. WOLCOTT.
Vincennes, la., June 21, 1853.
PROF. 0. J. YVOOD—
As you are about to manufacture and vend your re
cently discovered llair Restorative, V will state, for
whomsoever it may concern, that 1 have used it, and
knowu others to use it—that 1 have, for several years,
been in tile habit of using ether llair Restoratives, and
that J find yours vustly superior to any other I know.
It entirely cleanses tlie head of dandruff, and with one
month’s proper use, will restore any person’s hair to the
original youthful color and texture, giving it a lieulthy,
soft and glossy appearance; und all this, without discol
oring tlie hands that apply it, or the dress on which it
drops. I would, therefore, recommend its use to every
one desirous of havinga fine color and texture of hair.
Respectfully, yours, YYILSON KING.
St. Louis, June 29, 1853.
PROF. YVOOD—
As you are about tu prepare and vend your recently
discovered Hair Restorative, and as you request my opin
ion of it, 1 will state, that my hair was, a few months
ago, very gray, and after using two bottles of your Hair
Restorative, it resumed its original color; and since its
application, all dandruff’ lias disappeared from my head,
and 1 have been troubled witli no disagreeable itching ol
the scalp. lam satisfied that those who use it will not
regret it, us it gives the hair the appearance of having
been recently oiled. lam prepared, therefore, to recom
mend its use to all who are desirous of havinga beautiful
bead of hair. 1 am, sir, yours, etc.
11. 1,. STEWART
PROF. WOOD—
Dear Sir—My hair had, for several years, been be
coming prematurely gray accompanied by a harshness
which tendered the constant application of oil necessary
in dressing it. YY lien 1 commenced using your llair Res
torative, about two months ugo, it was in that condition ;
and having continued its use till within the last three
weeks, it lias turned to its natural color, and assumed &
softness and lustre greatly to lie preferred to those pro
duced by the application of oils or any other preparation
1 have ever used. 1 regard it as an indispensable article
for every lady's toilet, w hether to be used as a Hair lies
torutive, or for the simple purpose of dressing or beauti
fying tlie hair. You have permission to refer to me all
who entertain any doubt of its performing ull that is
claimed for it. ‘ MRS. BYMONDS,
Cincinnati, Ohio, Feb. 10, 1864. 144 Third st
Watertown, Mass., May 1, 1854.
PROF. O. J. WOOD—
Allow me to attest the virtues anil magic powers of
youi Hair Restorative. Three months Hince, being ex
ceedingly gray, 1 purchased, and soon commenced to use,
two bottles; aud it soon began to tell, in restoring tlie
silver locks to their native color, anil the hair, which was
before dry uml harsh and falling oft', now became soft
and and it ceased falling; the dandruff’ disap
peared, and the scalp lost all the disagreeable itching,
so annoying before, aud now, 1 not only look, but feel
young again. Respectfully, yours, etc.
