COLUMBUS WEEKLY SUN. T. W. LANE AND T. DE WOLi’, EDITORS. TIIE DAILY SUN biing uow established oil a basis, broad enough and strong enough, to secure its per manence, we have determined to carry out our long cherished intention, the establishment of a WEEKLY PAPER. THE WEEKLY SUN, will bo made upfrointho choic est matter of our daily; like it, will maintain a strict neutrality as to party and creed; and like it, will contain all the latest and most interesting news received, up to the hour of going to press. jDn the first of September next, we shall have m suc cessful operation, liberal TELEGRAPHIC ARRANGEMENTS, which will enable us to lay before our readers the very latest news. Foreign and Domestic, Commercial, Politi cal and Miscellaneous. Wo might enlarge at great length, upon our intentions; but preferring performance to promises, we shall endeavor to have the “ SUN ” make its own way exclusively upon such merit as it may be found to possess. Before embarking in this project, which will be an ex pensive and laborious one, we desire to have some guar anty of its success. We therefore iuvito subscriptions and invoke the aid of our friends; and so soon as ONE THOUSAND reliable names shall be procured, the first number will be issued and promptly mailed. Then, but not till then, payment will be expected of all subscribers. We shall adhere strictly to the advance CASH SYS TEM, not only for our own, but our readers’ good. Eve ry reader is interested in this system; for it is the only one by which a journal can be successfully established, and its interest and usefulness maintained. fTlie Weekly San will be a large and handsome sheet, printed on good paper, and containing a larger amount of rea ling matter, adapted both to specific and general wants and tastes, than any paper in Western Georgia, or the State of Alabama. Advertisements will not be al lowed to encroach upon our reading matter, except to a very limited extent. if Subscription Price, $2.50 per annum, Invariably in ad vance. ■ Liberal inducements are offered to Postmasters and j Ag cuts, who will interest themselves to increase our ■ circulation —inducements that will enable men of ener gy to reap real benefit from their efforts in our behalf Upon this point full particulars may be obtained by ad | Hessing THOMAS DEYVOLF. The Hair. f| In to-day’s paper will be found an advertise ment of Prof. O. J. Wood’s renowned Hair lie- | Storative. The statements contained in the | letters of those who have used it, are wonder- | fnl, but no less wonderful than true. This Restorative has not been long before the pub lic, but it has already achieved a world wide leputation, and thousands daily thank the dis coverer. Read the advertisement, and go Straightway and supply yourself.—Glasgow Times. I ‘ $540 REWARD. Three months ago lny hair was very gray. It is now a dark brown, (the original color,)Smooth aud glossy. The only application 1 have made to it, has been the Hair Resto rative prepared by you, and which, from the result in my own case, 1 can most cordially recommend to others. Respectfully, yours, EDM'. WOLCOTT. Yixcennes, la., Jane 21, 1853. PROF. 0. J. WOOD— As you are about to manufacture and vend your re cently discovered Hair Restorative, i will state, for whomsoever it may concern, tout I liavo used it, and known ethers to use it—that 1 lmve, for several years, been in the habit of using ether Heir Restoratives, aud that 1 find yours vastly superior to any other 1 know. It entirely cleanses the head of dandruff, and with one month’s proper use, will restore any person's lmir to the original youthful color and texture, giving it a healthy, soft aud glossy appearance; and all this, without discol oring tlie hands that apply it, or tin* dress on which it drops. 1 would, therefore, recommend its use to every one desirous of lmvinga fine color and texture of liair. Respectfully, yours, WILSON KING. St. Lotus, Juno 29, 1853. PROF. J mil satisfied that those who use it w ill not regret it, as it gives tlie hair tlie appearance of having been recently oiled, i am prepared, therefore, to recom mend its use to all who are desirous of having a beautiful head of hair. I am, sir, yours, etc. 11. L. STEWART. PROF. WOOD— Dear Sir—Sly hair had, for several years, been be coming prematurely gray, accompanied by a harshness which tendered tlie constant application of oil necessary in dressing it. When I commencedusingyour Hair Res torative, about two months ago. it w as in that condition ; and having continued its use till within tlie last three weeks, it bus turned to its natural color, and assumed a softness and lustre greatly lo la* preferred to those pro duced by the application of oils or any other pieparation 1 lmve ever used. 1 regard it as an indispensable article for every lady’s toilet, whether to lie used as a Hair Res torative, or for the simple purpose of dressing or beauti fying the lmir. You have permission to refer to me all who entertain any doubt of its performing all tlmt is claimed for it. SIKS. C. BYMONDS, Cincinnati, Ohio, Feb. 16, 1854. 144 ‘Third st.
