COLUMBUS WEEKLY SUN. 1 T W- LANE AND T. DE WOLF, EDITORS. AllE DAILY SUN being now established on a basis, fclbiul enough and strong enough, to secure its per manence, we have determined to carry out our long cbeiished intention, the establishment oi'u WEEKLY PAPER. ‘fcllE WEEKLY SUN, will be made up from the choic est matter of our daily; like it, will maintain a strict neutrality as to party and creed; and like it, will contain all the latest and most interesting news received, up to the hour of going to press. 4 a the first of September next, we shall have in suc ful operation, liberal Telegraphic arrangements, wach will enable, us to lay before our readers the very uJist news, Foreign and Domestic, Commercial, Politi cal and Miscellaneous. Wo might enlarge at great length, upon our intentions; but preferring performance to promises, we shall endeavor to have the “ SUN ” make itsfown way exclusively upon such merit as it may he found to possess. Before embarking in this project, which will be an ex peUsAe and laborious one, we desire to have some guar anty of its success. We therefore invite subscriptions j and invoke the aid of our friends; and so soon as ONE THOTJS-AJCvriD reUnhle names shall be procured, the first number will hel med and promptly mailed. Then, but not till then, •Bmeut wilt be expected of all subscribers. I^we'shall adhere strictly to the advance CASH SYS TEM not only for our own, but our readers’ good. Eve- I iyp ulor is interested in this system; for it is the only oni iiv which a journal can he successfully established, anp its interest and usefulness maintained. JlJlio Weekly Sun will be a large and handsome sheet, on good paper, and containing a larger amount of rMding matter, adapted both to specific and general wants and tastes, than any paper in Western Georgia,or thfe State of Alabama. Advertisements will not be al lowed to encroach upon our reading matter, except to a vljty limited extent. Subscription Price, $2.50 per annum, invariably in ad vance. inducements are offered to Postmasters and Agents, who will interest themselves to increase our circulation —inducements that will enable men of ener wßto reai> real benefit from their efforts in our behalf Ujjori this point full particulars may be obtained by ad ■Ling THOMAS DRWOLF. The Hair. Hn to-day’s paper will be found an advertise ment of Prof. O. J. Wood’s renowned Hair Ite rative. The statements contained in the letters of those who have used it, are wonder- j MI. but no less wonderful than true. This ijkstorative has not been long before the pub- JH, but it lias already achieved a world wide JButation, and thousands daily 7 thank the dis cojverer. Read the advertisement, and go straightway and supply yourself.—Glasgow Times. ■lly late tiles of English papers, we sec that Mr. EdwardStrutt, a noted manufacturer, has bijen raised to the peerage.
