V curious pecuuiary detail lias come to uowlmigo wittiiu these lew days, says a Paris ■o,-respondent. Uvery morning a bag contain ,r id 0001'. was dispatched by railroad l'rom to Plotubieres, and “sufficient for the i,tv ” would scarcely seetu to have been the •esuuroes thereof; for a person attached to I Emperor’s service, who has returned from piombieres, has stated that, at the hour of retiring to rest, Imperial Majesty never remained iu possession of a singlo son. * A correspondent of the Alexandria Gazette •ommunicates the following: A sow belonging ;o a gentleman in the county of Prince Wili am. while in the state of pregnancy, had one if her ears torn off by a dog and when her 3 igs came lately, three of them had only one -ar each, and the place where the ear should lie exactly resembled the place from which the sow’s ear was torn. [t is said that an English Earl who was en gaged in the Crimean war, is soon to lead to ilie hymeneal altar the noble-hearted and self sacrificing Florence Nightingale. An advertiser in Norfolk in offering for sale some land in the Dismal Swamp county, re commends it to all who want a “healthy'’ loca tion. Among its attractions are an “inex haustible marsh attached.” It is also a “good situation for a physician.” s’remont’s Birthplace. We clip the following front the Savannah News of Monday last: As many are in doubts as to the birth place of J. C. Fremont we are permitted to publish the following extract of a letter, from a gen (lo nian of high respectability, in Florida (formerly a resident of this city and county,) to a friend in this city: “I went with my friends and to board with and study French with Monsier Fremont, the sire of the black Re publican candidatate for the Presidency, in Sa vannah, in Gibbons’ old building, brick, where his honor J. C. Fremont first saw daylight. The Hair. Iu to-day’s paper will be found an advertise ment of Prof. O. J. Wood’s renowned Hair Re storative. The statements contained in the letters of those who have used it, are wonder ful, but no less wonderful than true. This Restorative has not been long before the pub ■lie, but it has already achieved a world wide {'reputation, and thousands daily thank the dis coverer. Read the advertisement, and go straightway and supply yourself.—Glasgow B'l'imes. ■BB! DIED. I At Callao, l*cru, June 16th, Col.
