PROOFS S See wliat the President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Missouri, says of Rhodes’ Fevei and Ague Cure, or A a tidoto to Malaria; St. Louis, Mo., Nov. 10, 1855. HAVING noticed the certiticnlu of chemical analysis given by tho cel, diluted chemist Dr. J. R. Chilton, of Now York city, in saver of Rhodes’ Fever and Ague Cure, that it contained neither Quinine, Arsenic, Mor curp nor Strychnine, ami having received numerous ap plications for it, 1 was induced to scud to Dr. .Rhodes for the medicine. Since then 1 have disposed of a largo quantity, mostly lo residents of this city, who have inva riably been cured by it, and to whom l can refer. 1 am, therefore, satisfied in recommending it to bo nil that the proprietor represents. EDWARD S. WHEATON, Presd’t of Pharmaceutical Socioty of Missouri. TO Hollies Perform 70 Cures. Constantine, Mieli., Sept. 24th, 1865. Janies A. Huongs, Esq.—Dear Sir:—l have just sent an order to Ames & Halliday for another half gross of your Fever and Ague Cure. It has sold like “ Hot Cakes,” and 1 have only two bottles on hand. Olio reason it has sold, is because when 1 have heard of a ease of Ague or Chill Fever, 1 have sent a bottle and teld them to try it, and if it did not help them, they were not obliged to pay for it, and they were all satisfied. 1 had one case of Chill Fever where it run four days, but the man came to see me oil the sixth day well satisfied. Truly yours, JOHN P. GLADDING. Only Caution.—ln certain specified cases, pour the contents of one or more bottles of the Cure into shallow vessels, (dining plates, i and place them in sleeping rooms; for ttie vapor rising from tho medicine, and ulso the air wafted across, or circulated over the dregs of it, after the liquid Is evaporated, will counteract and destroy, to a Uegieo commensurate with its expo sure, the miasmata or poison contained in the apartment. This mode* of exhibiting the Cure should likewise lie resorted to when very young infants aro exposed to malarious situations. The bottles in which this medicine is put up lmvo tho words, ‘‘Rhodes’ Fever and Ague Cube” blown in the glass, and on the outside wrapper is the name of the medicine, (the copyright of which is secured) and tiie signature of the proprietor. These precautions are taken to prevent counterfeits and imitations. TilX RELIANCE FOR ITS SUCCESS IS ENTIRELY UPON ITS actual merits, wherever introduced and used. Ratification of tlic Treaty with the United States. llepublic ok Nicaragua, Department of"! State and Interior Relations, l September 27, 185(5. ) Sir: The Supremo executive power has been pleased to dictate the following decree : THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF NICARAGUA TO ITS INHABITANTS; Whereas, flic treaty of friendship, com merce, and navigation, between the United States and Nicaragua, concluded at Granada on the 20th day of June, 1855, requires rati fications thereof to be exchanged at Wash ington City, within eighteen months of the signing of the same; therefore, in virtue of the powers in him vested, decrees: Article 1. The treaty of friendship, com merce and navigation, between Nicaragua and the United States, concluded at Granada, on the 20th day of June, 1855, is hereby ratified and confirmed in all its parts. _ Art. 2. Art, 3. Communicated to whom it may con cern. Given in Granada this 271 h day of Septem ber, 1850. WILLIAM WALKER. TO THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE DEPART MENT OF exterior relations. By superior order this is communicated to you for your informat ion and proper action. FEltßElt, Minister of State. The Peace In Europe, , The Liverpool Journal of October 4 , says, in its “History of the Week “The late war does not appear to have giv en very general satisfaction ; it was too brief for England, too long for France, too humil iating for Russia, and too revolutionary for Turkey. We would have liked another tus sle, and would not be greatly displeased to have another turn with the Muscovite; the Muscovite himself is eager to tell the world he is still full of fight, and refuses to abate one jot of his pretensions to assist in regulating the affairs of Europe. The Porte denies that the Allies did him any real service, and la ments that the intercouse with the infidel dis turbed the guarantee given by Heaven in fa vor of the prepetuity of the true believer. The reforms are delusions, and the preten sions of the Principalities to union and inde pendence an outrage on the hereditary rights of the Sultan. The of destiny,” in the shadow of (he Pyrenees, revolves in his mind, like one of Homer’s heros, what may be consid ered the decrees of fate, but chooses not to be explicit as to his views or intentions.* In this state of tilings it is apprehended that the peace of Europe cannot be permanent. The circumstances all around give notes of dis content. Italy is ripe for revolt, and stands oil tiptoe endeavoring to see what. France and England is going to do. Will they do any thing 1 Hon. Pierre Soule. This distinguished gentleman arrived home yesterday. We are pleased to learn that he is in the enjoyment of good health, which, we trust, will long continue. As Mr. 8. has paid quite a protracted visit to Nicaragua, it is to be hoped he will take an early opportunity to favor the public with his views regarding the present and future of that magnificent coun try. No matter how widely ou> - people differ respecting politics, we all agree in regard to Nicaragua, and all of us join in heartfelt wishes for the success of the government so hopefully inaugurated by Gen.
