GREAT TRIUMPHS
AND
UN PARALLELED SUCCESS OF
RHODES’ FEVER AND AGUE CURE,
OR
ANTIDOTE TO MALARIA:
Equally certain as a Preventive or Cure.
NO POISON. PROOFS I
See what the President of the Pharmaceutical Society
of Missouri, says of Rhodes’Kevei and Ague Cure, or An
tidote to Malona:
St. Louis, Mo., Nov. 10, 1855.
HAVING noticed the certificate of chemical analysis
given by the celebrated chemist Dr. J. R. Chilton,
of New York city, in saver of Rhodes’ Fever and Ague
Cure, that it contained neither lluiuine, Arsenic, Mer
curp nor Strychnine, and having received numerous ap
plications for it, I was induced to send to Dr. Rhodes
for the medicine. Since then 1 have disposed of a large
quantity, mostly to residents of this city, who have inva
riably been cured by it, and to whom I cau refer. I am,
therefore, satisfied ill rcceuimendiug it to he all that
the proprietor represents.
EDWARD S. WHEATON,
Presd’t oi’ Pharmaceutical Society of Missouri.
70 Bottles Perform 70 Cures.
Constantins, Mich., Sept. 24tli, 1555.
Jamks A. Rhodes, Esq.—Dear Sir:—l have just sent
an order to Amos & Holliday for another half gross of
your Feverand Ague Cure. It lias sold like “ Hot Cakes,”
and I have only two bottles on hand. One reason it
has sold, is because w hen I have hoard of a ease of Ague
or Chill Fever, I have sent a bottle and teld them to try
it, and if it did not help them, they were not obliged to
pay for it, and they were all satisfied. I had one ease
of Chill Fever where it run four days, hut the man came
to see me on the sixth day well satisfied.
Truly yours, JOHN P. GLADDING.
Had the Ague for Twelve Years J
Providence, June 29, 1855.
Having been informed of the illness of a poor, but
worthy woman, who has not been fre e from Fever aud
Ague a mouth at a time for the last twelve years, 1 sup
plied her gratuitously with Rhodes’ Fever and Ague
Cure. B he took iu all four bottles which completely re
stored her to health aud strength, and as four months
have now elapsed, there is no reason to doubt the perma
nency of the cure.
C. A. P. MASOF, Apothecary.
H 4: Bottles Perform 24 Cures.
Moline, 111., Sept. 24, 1855.
Mr. James A. Rhodes— Dear Sir—The box of “Ague
Cure” you sent us lias all been sold aud created a large
demand for more; to meet which we liavo ordered
from your general agent at Chicago, J. D. Yerringt.oll.
Its sale will only be equalled by the number of Fever
aud Ague cases. Hoping these cases may be few, yet
have a bottle fur every rase.
We remain respectfully yours, *
RICHARDS & ALLEN.
Louisville No. 11, C. R. R., Ga., Jan. 1, 1856.
Your Ague Cure lias overcome all prejudices by its
merits, and given satisfaction. A gentleman just called
who has been fully curod by only one bottle, and de
sired me to recommend it to everybody. I shall do all 1
can in its sale. W. A.IIA YLES.
Only Caution.— ln certain specified cases, pour
the contents of one or more bottles of the Cure into
shallow vessels, (dining plates, i and place them in
sleeping rooms; for the vapor rising from the medicine,
and also the air wafted across, or circulated over the
dregs of it, after the liquid is evaporated, will counteract,
aud destroy, to a degree commensurate with its expo
sure, the miasmata or poison contained in the apartment.
This mode of exhibiting the Cure should likewise be
resorted to when very young infants are exposed to
malarious situations.
The bottles in which this medicine is put up have the
words, “Rhodes’ Fever and Ague Cure” blown in the
glass, and on the outside wrapper is the name of the
medicine, (the copyright of whicli is secured) and the
signature of the proprietor. These precautions are
taken to prevent counterfeits and imitations.
The reliance for its success is entirely upon its
actual merits, wherever introduced and used. These
will be considered sufficient.

LIGHTNING CONDUCTORS !
Patented July 3d, 1855, by Robert D. Dwyer.
riTH ESU Rods are known to be the best ever used for
I the perfect protection of all descriptions of Build
ings, Farm Houses, Public Works, etc.
The Insulator consists of a Hint glass stand, which is
attached to the building by bold-fasts or screws,so form
ed as that the combination of the clamp and Insulator
is perfected by the rod passing through the damn and
over the glass, thereby connecting the entire three with
out the intervention of any other fastening whatever.
This construction is simple, formed of durable mate
rials—the insulation is perfect—thus avoiding all tjio
defects of other Lightning Rods now in use.

W ortd, give to these Publication- au interest and valuo
they never before possessed. They occupy a middle
ground between the hastily written news items, crude
speculations, and Hying rumors of the newspaper, and
tlie ponderous Tome of tile historian, written long after
tire living interest iu the facts lie records shall have
passed away. The progress of the War in the East occu
pies a large space in their pages. Every movement i*
closely criticised, whether ol friend or of foe, and all
short-comings fearlessly pointed out. The letters from
the Crimea and from the Baltic in Blackwood’s Magazine,
from two of its most popular contributors, give a more
intelligible and reliable account of tlie movements of the
great belligerents that cun elsewhere ho fuuud.
These Periodicals ably represent tlie three great politi
cal parties ot Great Britain—J\ liig, Tory, and Radical, —
but politics forint only one feature of their character.—
‘As A)rgans of the most profound writers on science, Lite
