Synopsis,

directions for all cases. As the Negative Electric Fluid
will change tim condition called lever, or subdue and
control it under all circumstances, without regard to the
name, it may bo or ought to tie called, it should be given
wherever or whenever it exists; yet it cannot lie ex
pected to control all organic or local causes, which,

When such indications oci'ur in any ruse, they should
be appropriate means, and t hose sohuld be given white

occasion requires, its they will then more readily act,

If tile bowels are costive, given cathartic (see auxili
aries) with tlie iiisb dose, or soon after, and should it
fail to operate in due time, repeal, the dose; if attended
with diarrliiea, give something known to be good for
that complaint, though if caused by irritability, the
••Fluid* will soon relieve that condition; if severe local
pain or Inflammation, apply some stimulating liniment,
a mustard plaster, a blister, fomentations of bitter her is:,
or, psiliaps, cloths not iu cold water, to the part; if
violent pain iu the Itcad, apply cold water, ice water,
if convenient, or some cooling nppliention, and bathe

dry and hot. With great suffering, sponge or bathe tho

allayed before any medicine will remain on (lie stomach

gentle emetic to cleans# the stomach; warm witter, if
given plentifully, will answer every purpose; when the
stomach has settled, give the “ Fluid” and a cathartic if
necessary; in short, treat nil the prominent symptoms
as you would under any other circumstances, giving the
•• Fluid” at the same time ns directed, and siicoc-s w ill
crown your efforts; indeed, you cannot realize it. till vou
have seen, atul then you will be astonished at tho ease
with .whichyou can eontrol all febrile excitement.
Auxiliaries,
Parties may feel at a loss to know w lmt is meant by
cathartics, Ac., ns physicians are usually particular
about what Is used. 1 have found no such necessity
when using the Fluid, and to la. fully understood by
all, I will name u tew of (lie different articles of medi

C'aC Inn” Icm.—Articn s tliat purge or operate on t he
bowols.-Huch as castor mi. salts, senna, any of the routs
or barks, and many pills. antUijlioiis, anything
known to be g.iod for Mich purposes.

particularly, portal circulation tuul secretions generally.
Any of llie articles depended on by the diffortmt schools
for this purpose, will answer when used in connection
with the ••Fluid” or while the system is miller its in
fluence. And one may choose calomel—another, blno
mass—tha third, podopliytliu—tint tonrth, mandrake
root, mnl so on; each may toko his choice and be suc
cessful.
Tonics.—Articles that give tone or strength, -udi
as quinine, various barks, roots and bitter herbs, ttom -
se. or thorough wort is one of [be best used in fevers.
Aati'iugfflila.—Buell as check the action of tlie
bowels. Laudanum and other preparations of opium are
used; also, many mixtures, uet properly astringents,
which have the effect.
Si ill) util lit M. —Articles that raise or excite tho
system. Capsicum (Cayenne popper) is one of tho best;
ginger, spirit-, hartshorn, Ac., the csspneex are ull more
or less stimulating. These are the only classes necessa
ry iu treating fevers, though many others are generally
used, but tin* Negative Electric Fluid is it butter “dia
phoretic,” “anodyne.” “diuretic,” ••relaxant” and
