My ago is about 60 years; the color of my iiair auburn, and inclined to curl. Some five or six years since it began to turn gray and tho scalp on the crown of my bead to lose its sensibility and dandruff to form upon it. Eacli of these disagree** bilities increased with time, andaboutfour months since a fourtli was added to them, by hair falling off the top of my head and threatening to make me bald. In tiiis unpleasant predicament, I was induced to try Wood’s Ilair Restorative, mainly to arrest the falling off’ of my hair, for I had really no ex pectation that gray hair could ever be restored to its original color, except from dyes. 1 was, how ever, greatly surprised to find, after the use of two bottles only, that not only was the falliug off arrested, but the color was restored to the gray hairs aud sensibility to the scalp, aud daudrutl ceased to form on my head, very much to the gratification of iny wife,at whose solicitation I was induced to try It For this, among the many obligations 1 owe to her sex, 1 strongly recommend all husbunds who value the admiration of their wives, to profit by my example, and use it if growing gray or getting bald. Thu youug man, seeing the hopelessness of the efforts put forth to savo him, abandoned the skiff, and boldly struck out for land. By this time a large crowd had gathered on the bluff, and no craft being at baud that could be sent for the unlucky voyageur, his efforts to reach the shore were witnessed with the most intense interest. The wind was pretty stiff, to use a nautical phrase, and as the white-coped waves would swell up and conceal the struggling man from view, it was thought that ho hail given up in des pair—but, ever and anon, he would rise to the surface, ns it were, and strike out again, taking a diagonal course for the Tennessee shore. For an hour and three quarters lie breasted the waves, stopping at intervals to “float” and rest himself, and fmally reached the land almost ex hausted, two miles below the place he had started from.
