(’ HALYB EAT E KESTOKATIVE
PILLS OF IRON.
AN Aperient and 6ton.a.fiic ptopuration of lion
purified of Oxygen uud Oar bon uy combustion
iu Hydrogen. Sanctioned by the highest meuical
authorities, both in Euxopo and the United btutes,
and prescribed in their practice.
The experience ol thoftaunds daily proves that
no preparation of iron can be compared with it.
Impurities of the blood, depression id’ vital energy,
pale ana otherwise sickly complexions indicate its
necessity in almost every conceivable case.
luoxious iu all maladies in which it has been
tried, it has proven absolutely curutive in each of
the following complaints, viz :
In Dobility, Nervous Affections, Emaciation,
Dyspepsia, Ooustipaticn, Diarrhaa, Dysentery,
Incipient Consumption, Scrofulous Tuberculosis.
Salt Rheum, Miemeustrnation, Whites, Chlorosis,
Liver Complaints, Chronic Headaches, Rheuma
tism, Intermittent Fever, Pimples on the Face, Ac.
In cases of General Debility, whether the re
sult of acute disease, or of the continued diminu
tion of nervous aud muscular energy from chronic
complaints, one trial ol this Restorative has proved
successful to an extent which no description nor
written attestation would render credible. Inva
lids so long led ridden as to have become forgotten
in their own neighborhood, have suddenly re-ap
peared in the busy world as if just returned from
protracted travel in a distant land. Some very
signal instances of this kind are attested offemale
sufferers, omuciatod victims of apparent maras
mus, sanguineous exhaustion, critical changes,
aud that complication of nervous aud dyspeptic
aversion to air and exercise, for which the physi
cian has no name.
In Nervous Affections of all kinds, and for
reasons familiar to medical men, the operation of
this preparation of iron must uecessarily be salu
tary, for, unlike the old oxides, it is vigorously
tonic, without being exciting and overheating;
and gently, regularly aperient, even in the most
obstinate cases of costiveneus, without ever being
u gastric purgative, or indicting a disagreeable
sensation.
It is this latter property, among others, which
makes it so remarkably effectual and permanents
remedy for l\les, upon which it also appears to
exert a distinct and specific action, by dispersing
the local tendency which forms them.
In Dyspepsia, innumerable as are its causes, a
single box of these Chalybeate Pills has often
sufficed for the most habitual cases, including the
attendant Costiveness.
In unchecked Diarrh<ea, even when advanced
to Dysentery, confirmed, emaciating, and appa
rently malignant, the effects have been oqually
decisive and astonishing.
In the local pains, loss of flesh and strength,
debilitating cough, and remittent hectic, which
generally indicate Incipient Consumption, this
remedy has allayed the alarm of friends aud phy
sicians, in several very gratifying and interesting
instances.
In Scrofulous Tuberculosis, this medicatodiron
has had far more than the good effect of the most
cautiously balanced preparations of iodino. with
out any of their well known liabilities.
Tho attention of females cannot be too confi
dently invited to this retnedy and restorative, iu the
cases peculiarly affecting them.
In Rheumatism, both Chronic and Inflammato
ry—fn the latter, however, more decidedly—it has
been invariably well reported, both as alleviating
pain and reducing the swellings and stillness of
the joints and muscles.
In Intermittent Fever3, it must necessarily be
a great remedy and energetic restorative, and its
progress iD the new settlements of tho Wost will
probably be one of high renown and usefulness.
No remedy has evor been discovered in the
whole history of medicine, which exerts such
prompt, happy, and fully restorative effects. G od
appetite, complete digestion, rapid acquisition of
strength, with an unusual disposition for active
and cheerful exercise, immediately follow its use.
Put up in neat flat metal boxes containing fifty
pills, prico 60 cents per box; for sale by druggists
and dealers. Will be sent free to any address on
receipt of tho price. All letters, orders, etc.,
should be addressed to

washing away embankments. On the

Slaveholdlng Indians.
The returns of the census for the fonr
slaveholding Indian communities west of
the State of Arkansas have been received
by the Departmental Washington. The
communities referred to are tbe Choc
taws, Cberokees, Cbickesaws and Semi
notes. Most of those Indians, heads of
families are slaveholders. The Slininoles
were the only tribe which refused to let
the Assistant Marshal enumerate their
slaves. Several thousand slaves are
owned by the tribes taken in the aggre
gate, and these slaves are employed by
the Indians in cultivating their lands,
and well and kindly treated.

The National Volunteers at Washing

and adopted the following resolutions
unanimously and with tremendous ap

Resolved, 1. That we will stand by
and defeud the South, and that under no
circumstances will we assume a position
of hostility to her interests or affiliate
with a military organization prompted
by a partisan spirit to subserve tbe aims
of tbe Black Republican party.
2. That the reign of terror attempted
to be inaugurated in our midst is a sys
tem of tyrunDy which calls for tbe most
emphatic rebuke.
S. That we will aid each other and all
good citizens against abolition violence,
und attacks upon private property.
4. We will aot in event of tbe with
drawal of Maryland and Virginia from

The Mews In South Carolina.
The Columbian Guardian says that the
news of the secession of Georgia was
received there with every demonstration
of joy, which were greater than when
South Carolina seceded. Judge Long
street made a speech in whioh one of his
illustrations was to this effect :
In old times goods had to be hauled
from tho North to Georgia. Some wago
ners going home one night were startled
by the sudden light from a large meteor,
when one of them in the wagon put out
his head and said that they need not be
alarmed— *• the moon had only broke
loose.” Tbe other States wbioh had al
ready seceded were bright and glorious
stars, but this evening the moon had
broke loose.
In Charleston a salute was fired in hon
or of the event.
