At a meeting of the men of co. A,

cunwnittec was appointed to draft tlie
following preamble and resolutions ; ex
pressive of the feelings and intentions
ot the company iu regard to re-enlist

Whereas, it is our settled conviction
that it is the duty of every man able to
bear arms,-and particularly those al
ready iu service, to evince the patriotic
determination to defend to the last the
cause, in which we are engaged, and
moreover, as our otlioeis have magnan
imously assured ns that our immediate
re eulisltueut under their command shall
be no bar to our future reorganization
if Congress shall allow us that privilege:
Therefore resulvcd :
Ist. That we do rc enlist uucoudi
tioually for Ihe war, willing to trust lo
Congress to grant us the privilege of
reorganizing, which Wc earnestly bopo
wilt be done.
2d. That we do in this manner convey
to our friends at home our earnest as
surances that we are still untiring in
our efforts to secure and maintain the
liberty, which we believe to beihe birth
right of every Trout hern citizen, and that
we will not lay down our arms as long
us there is an armed foe within uur bor
ders.
.'JJ. That we do recommend the entire
nrmy to re-onlis!meul for the war, as
becomes patriots aud soldiers, and we j
would urge upon those at home the ne
cessity of coming to the assistance of
those already tu the held.

—The swindles of this war are carried
on ou as grand a scale us the war itself;
both exceed anythiug yet accomplished

“ The bills were disposed of to vari

for collection tlio startling fact came lo
light that they were spurious. They,
however, bear the endorsement of the

holders from loss, hut will ruin the bunk.
The cashier had such assurances as lo
make him perfectly confident of his safe

that they were delusive. Among those
who vouched for hiH responsibility, we

dial of his time, however, whs spent in
Richmond, where ho lived in princely
style, paying us much us $l4O a day ut
ibe hotels, besides taking his meals at
the restaurants, iiis extravagance seem

names of Wadsworth, Baltuer St Cos.,
Samuel Harrison, and Foster, a
broker, of Richmond, as among the vic

suffered. Decic is supposed lo have gone
to England. Re left 15 or 20 negroes,

attached for the benefit of Ihe sufferers.
Other facts will no doubt be developed
of this mammoth swindle. ’’■—Richmond

One of the queerest stories of the day
connects itself with Queen Victoria, of
Eugland. She was supposed to have
been devotedly attached to Prince Albert,
the Prince Cousort, and of course to che
rish iiis memory, and yet it is now said
that she is so much determined to be
married again, that she is even willing
to abdicate the throne, in order to carry
out her objects. If she inarry a subject
she must leave the throne to do so.
This is utmost as strange as a miracle.
