O R Phelps, M D
- Sir,— It gives me great pleasure tn being able to
stale to you my opinion, and the result of my enerieoca
of your Compound Tomato PUts. You must be aware
that, like our profession generally, I am prejudiced
agauiM sit remedies usually denotnlnsAed “patent (Medi
cines,” but hearing your PiUs highly axtolied by some
of my friends, I was induced to procure a tow boxes and
give them a trial; and this I was the more inclined to
do, from my intimate knowledge of and confidence in,
your moral and profesrional character.
I have prescribed your PiUs in caaes of bilum* ajftt
tions, anti diseases of Ihe liver and stomach, and the re
sult has been highly satisfactory. In one case particu
larly, of severe dyspeptic symptoms, the relief exceeded
my most sanguine expectation*.
Judging from th recipe, as t was communicated to ma,
I should think your compound would be safe in al!
and applicable to moat of those in which it is reeom*
men ! J
I take tne more pleasure in writing to yon on this sub
ject, because I understand Hurt great effort* have been
made by person! interested in another medicine, to tra
duce your cheractsr as a gaoflcmsn. and a Physician
and to injure the sale of your medicine, and wrest front

charging you with imposition, quackery, 4ic
You are at liberty to uac this in such a manner as
yon please, and also to refer to me in regard to yourself,
or your valuable dtecovery.

It is conceded and well understood, that threa

For all auch tsaea as these, the Tomato Pilla ars
a remedy, which if taken in season, and pegaevaf

Females of 40 to 50 years of age, will find them
a powerful assistant Is nature , in the importani

For obatnicuona in young femslea, enm:gbei
the Pills should be taken every third night to pm
