Cotton.—The market opened to-day steady with
some firmness—the inquiry was slight with but very
few buyers. The market grew weak towards the close
of the duy; *it theii* took another change, and became
easier. The noon dispatches from New York announ
ces that market weak with fair demand, with sales of
2,000 baleB.at k25j^c. Liverpool steady, with fair, de
mand—sales 12,000 bales. Our market did not close
Btrong, so we therefore refrain from giving any quota
tions. The following were the sales to-day: 3 at 26}£,
2 at 24& 17 at 24, 7 at 2S. 5 at 22*4 cents. Total, 34.
Sea Islands—Not quotable sales—5 at 58 cents. J 1
