abandoned at eea. Most of the crew saved.
Boston, January 4—The steamship Texas, from
Liverpool, arrived, below this port Friday, la a
dense fog, and while coming up the harbor went
atkore and remaiuod this forenoon, her bows
resting on shore hard and fast, while under her
stern there were twenty feet of water. It is ex
pected, after discharging a portion of the cargo,
sue will coma off without material damage.
The British steamer air Francis, also from Liv
erpool,went ashore yesterday afternoon ou Hamp
ton Beach during a thick fog. Passengers and
