The Canal to be opened at the upper end forty-feet, and the remaining part twenty feet, wide, and four feet deep; die dirt to be. thrown upwards of ten feet on each side back, from the canal, and the ground to be cleared completely of trees for one hundred feet wide through its whole extent.
