vLa for cutting a CANAL from tlie Aiauunaha, near
Pmey Island, to Cat-fish Creek, the listauce of which
is a mile. The Canal to be opened at the upper end
forty -feet, and the remaining part twenty feet, wide, and
four feet deep; ihe dirt to be thrown upwards often
feet on each side hack from"the canal, and the ground
to be cleared completely of trees for one hundred feet
wide through i's whole extent.
They will also contract for cutting a short Canal of
from two to three hun ired \ ards at a place: called the
Narrows, ,car Joiner’s field, also in the Aiauunaha.—
