Bank of Darien, 18 th Alay, 1819. j THE Direction having taken under consideration (the i whole board present) the expediency of establishing n Branch of its Bank forthwith in terms “of its charter “at some convenient place contiguous to the Ocmulgee” came to the determination of taking measures for carry ing this part of their powers now into effect. The pe titions and representations on the subject, which have been received at Bank, were then taken under consid erations, and the reasons therein stated in favor of the several places which have laid claim to the location of this Branch were duly weighed. (I hereupon it is unanimously resolved, That the town of Marion, in the country of Twiggs, be fixed as the most suitable place, at present, for the establishment of a Branch of this Bank—and that the Board will, on Tuesday, the 13th of July next, proceed to the choice of’ five persons to be directors of the same. Milev was seen in Savannah 12 or 14day s since in the possession of a young map, who it is supposed inveigled her away. It is their intention, no doubt, to travel farther south. The above reward, and ull reasonable expences will be paid to any person de livering said woman Miley to ntc, or lodge her in any gaol in this state, or South Carolina, so that I can get her again. ABSENTED from the plantation of James Moore, (one of the undersigned) on the 23d of December last, a Negro Wench, named CELIA, and on the 11th January following, a negro man, named JACK,’ both belonging to the estate of Mrs. Martha Pow ell, deceas ed. Fifty dollar’s reward will be given for the a;, pre hension of each or either of said negroes or. delivery to one of the subscribers and all reasonable expenses paid. As it is believed said negroes have been inveigled or stolen from the premises aforesaid, the farthc-t sum of one hundred dollars will be paid for proof to convic tion of the offender. Celia is about thirty-five years of ag-e, Afocan born, speaks rather bad English, and in a very’ pi vyiiur man ners hut, is otherwise smart and shrewd. Oh being spoken to, she has the singular habit of throw ing up her head with a disdainful air.
