A certificate from three members of the Medical
Profession in Germany, in Europe.
We, the undersigned, practitioners ol medicine
I in Germany, are wed aware that, by our course,
we may forfeit the friendship of some of trie tacul
ty, but not of its oenevoieut members, who are un
influenced by se ush motives. 1 hough we shall .
refrain from an expression ot our opinion, eithei j
a of the soundness or unsoundness ol Dr. . .c-elick s \
new doctrine we are nappy to say that wt deem .
his Sanative too va.uable not to be generally j
known —for what our eyes behold and our eats ;
hear, we must .relieve.
We hereby state, that when Dr. Louis Offen !
Goclick urst came -efore the German pu Tic, as j
the pretended discoverer of a new doctrine and a |
new medicine, we held him in the highest con
tempt, relieving and openly pronouncing hi n to be
a base impostor and the prince of quacks, iul, on
hearing so much said about the Sanative, against it
and fur it, we were induced, from motives of curi
osity merely, to make trial of its reputed virtues
upon a number of our most hopeless patients; and
we now deem it our bounden duty 7 [even at the
expense of sell-interest. publiciy to acknowledge
its edicacy in curing not only consumption, ut
other fearful maladies, which we have heretofore
believed to be incurable. Our contempt for the
discoverer of this medicine was at once swallowed
up in our utter astonishment at these unexpected
results; and, as amends for our abuse of him, we
do frankly confess to the world, that we relieve
him a philanthropist, who does honor to t .e profes
a* situ, and to our country, which gave him biith.
The rcce.it adoption of this medicine into some
of our European hospitals, is a su.hcient guaranty
that it perrorms all promises. It needed not oui

It appears by the following information given to
the public by Dr. Rowland, that the much talked ol
Matchless Sanative is indeed what it professes to
be — an effectual and valuable medicine, worthy the
serious attention of every consumptive person, and
_e sick generally.

land, the General American Agent tor this mighty
medicine, (invented by the immortal Goeflci e ol
Germany) has great p easure in publishing the fol
’ lowing highly important letter from a respectable
r gentleman in New-York, which he has received
with manv others of a similar character—a so very
interesting intelligence from several of his Agents,
as will be seen below —winch, together with© the
certificate from three eminent German physicians,
must forever establish the character of the Sanative
as being without a parallel in the history of medi
cine.

New-Y’ork, Oct. 9, 1837.
i Dr. D. S. Rowiani, —Sir: About the middle of
|r ouly last, I accidentally noticed in a newspaperthe
advertisement of the Matchless Sanative, for whirl
I nmrerrel you were agent, and which pofesse* 1
o til a sovereign remedy fqr cqc m option.
As mv wife was then fast wasting aw tv will
this dreadful disease, and as our family physician
was daily and anxiously endeavoring to restore he
to hea tii without success, I stepped over to his
health and as red him if lie had any objections t*
hertakmg tnis medicine. He rep ien mat * .iew<>

t could do her no good, as hei lungs were rapidly
consuming, and no human means could save
her.” Still, the Sanative, being recommended by
tiirec physicians who had used it in their practice,
she concluded to give it a trial. 1 sent and pur
chased a phial which she commenced taking three
times a day, giving a free indulgence to her appe
tite according to the directions. By pursuing this
course, she siiifered considerably lor the lirst eight
or ten d lys, but was shortly able to eat and drink
freely, without the last inconvenience.
Within four weeks from her urst using the med
icine, her feeble health and wasted form began to
put on new sire'gib a id she has been gainingfrom
day to day until the present moment, to the uttei
astonishment of our family physician and friends. —
She is now enjoying.i comfortable not per
feet} state of hea.th, L able to be about house and
attend church.
Mrs Sherwood and mysef are both fully of
opinion, and so are all who know her remarkable
j case, tat she owes her live to the Sanative alone:
and as there are probably many consumptive per
sons in the ; nited ■'tales, who have not yet heard
of this medicine, meE.sures ought speedily to be
adopted to have it more general y known.
A number of persons in our neighborhood I un
derstand. are taking it or other serious complaints,
witli very great .enelil..
I thin of going to the South, with my family,
sometime this fall, and n case 1 do, 1 will proclaim
the virtues of the Sanative in that quarter; for al
though some of the physicians here are activelyop
oosed to it. 1 do sincerely believe it saved my wife
from in opening g. ave
If you think this letter will serve he public
good, you are at liberty to publish it.
