AN ACT, to amend an act, entitled ‘an act to in
corporate Il;e Augusta and Waynesboro’ Rail
Road, assented to 3 st December, 1838.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of
Representatives of the > t ;te of Georgia, in General
Assemble met —And it is hereby enacted by the
authority of the same, that any five of tlie Commis
sioners,or their successors, appointed by tlie tenth
section of the aforesaid act, shah, and they are
hereby declared to be, competent to form a quorum
and to perform any or all the duties and services
inquired and authorised by the said a«r.

Mr. Ring, the principal English Tear her, re
cently engaged by the Board, comes with the high
est reVommenda ions as to character, talents, lite
rary attainments and skill in teaching, and the
Trustees feel assured that he will sustain the re
putation which led to his selection.
The branch of the Academy at Summerville is
under the immediate management of Mr. Frank
lin George, a gentleman of experience in teach
ing. and highly recommended. 'The advantage ol
the location of this branch of the Academy in ore
of the mud healthful neighborhoods in the State,
and sulßciently remote from the unfavorable in
fluence of a crowded town, are too well known to
need comment.
On the whole, the Board confidently recommend
to the public the principal \caderny and the Branch
at Summerville, as being on a better fooling than
thev have heretofore been, and piomising great
usefulness to tho*e who mnv avail themselves of
1 the advantages which they offer.
