Sng-ir Louisiana —The demand in the city has !
been rather lexs active since Tuesday last than for
sevcial diys pa<t. A tolerably fair business has
been danc, however, and as the receipts of the last
three < ays have been only moderate there is no in- j
<• tease ol stock on the Levee. Prices remain with- j
out material alteration, and we still retain our for
mer quotations of 2$ a cents, remarking that
most ol the sales continue to be made at 3 a 4l ets.
1 he scarcity of strictly prime quality still prevails
and grocers find it difficult to obtain supplies for
iheir retail Lade. \\ e have heard of no sales witn- I
in the ta.-l day or two above 4|, and there are now I
no parcels on the Levee that will command our i
highest figures. There have been some transactions
on plantation, among which we notice 170 hhds, a ’
very superior crop, at 4g cents; 220 at 4, and 370 j
at 4 cents.
