November last, a yellow Boy, about 3
feet, oorti inches high. Has a scar on his face
near the eye, and is about 35 or 40 years of age.—
His name is WILLIAM, and has passed among his
acquaintances under the familiar name of HILL
MILLS. A suitable reward will be paid for his
apprehension, and deliver him to any Jailor, so that

LODGED as a runaway in the jail of

•gL the 29th ult., a negro man about thirty
five or forty years old, stout built, five
feet ten inches high, and ready spoken, who calls
himself MARCH,and says he belongs (o Robert
Homes of Talbot county, Ga. He had, when ap
prehended, a paper purporting to he a pass, and
ulmost illegible, dated 82d July, 1840, granting him
leave to pass to Wynsborough, Faiificld District,
Soutli Carolina, until the 25th May next. The
owner of said slave is hereby required to come for
ward and prove his property, or the said slave
shall be dealt with according to the law of the
State of South Carolina,

IN obedience to a decree of the honorable Chan
cery Court, ala Court Holden at Talladega, in
the 4th Chancery district, ill the Northern division
of the Slate of Alabama, the undersigned. Register

Gold Mines, in Randolph county, Alabama, to the
highest bidder, ou six, twelve and eighteen months

branches, at Tyrone, Wilkes county, Ga., and in
tends to make Cotton Gins on various plans, to suit
purchasers, My Gins are ail made ot the best
materials, as I have mads arrangements with Nay
lor & Co., New York, for the best article of cast
steel for Saws, and all other materials necessary to i
make first rate Cotton Gins. I shall also make a t
good many of the anti-friction Gins, which I find j
from experience, is a very superior article of Gins,
for which the public can have references to the
certificates annexed, from the hands of the gentle
men that have used them for the last season.
Gins will be delivered to purchasers from any
part of this State or South Carolina. Repairing
dose in good style, and at low prices. 1
All orders directed to Tyrone, Wilkes county, I

hundred pounds. It makes first rate Cotton, and
‘ there is no danger of fire at all in ginning 1 think
i all farmers would do well to get such a machine.

This is to certify Ural I purchased a Cotton Gin
i of 8. R. Crenshaw, of forty-five saws, that runs on
| what is called anti-friction wheels, and excels any
Gin that i ever saw. Living on the road that leads
from Madison to Monticcllo, I have had a great
many persons to call and sec the said machine in 1
operation, and I have not heard the first man say
that it did not excel any machine that was made
to gin Colton. I think all farmers would find it lo 1
their interest to get such a machine, as there is no
danger of its taking lire by a careless hand.

and devotedness to its interests for 11 years,—his
military engagement under Marshal Wade in 1745,
against the forces of the Pretender, —and details of
his domcsticc and social relations through the lat
ter part of his long and eventful life.
It will make an octavo volume of about 350
pages, neatly printed, and adorned with a Frontis
piece full-length Portrait,—a plate representing
tnc Arms of the Family,—the Honorary Medal,—
the Seal of the Trustee , and the Light-House of
Tybee,—and a Map.

IT appearing to this Court upon the petition of
John Hcaih, that on the 12th day of February,
icjJG, William Heath of Warren county, Ga., exe
cuted and and'delivered to the said John Heath his
certain bond conditioned that be, the said William
Heath, would make or cause to be made unto him,
the said John Heath, his heirs or assigns, good and
lawful titles to a certain lot of land lying in said
county, adjoining lands of James Wynne and oth
ers, and the said William Heath has since the exe
cution of said bond, departed this life without
executing said titles. It is therefore ordered : that
the Executor of the said William Heath, deceased,
do execute titles to the aforesaid lot of land ac
cording to the tenor and ellbct of said bond, unto
the said John Heath, in terms of the statute in such
cases made and provided: and that a copy of this
order be published in a public Gazette of this State
three months.

forth that Andrew Floyd of said county, by
his certain deed, beating date the 7lh day of Janu
ary, 1840, did (for the purpose 01 securing the pay
ment of Ine two promissory not?s of the said An
drew, dated on the said day, one for twelve hundred
and seventy-five dollars thirty-one cents, due the
Ist day of January, 1841, the other for twelve
i hundred and fifty dollars sixty-three cents, due the 1
Ist day of Janusry, 1842, which said notes are
signed by the petitioner as the sc. urity of said
Andrew, both payab.c to Robert A. Allen, Admin
istrator of Peter Matthews,) mortgage to the said
.Seaborn J. Cox all that tract of land in said county
of Burke, containing five hundred and eighty-three
acres, on the south side of Boggy Gut, adjoining
lands of Pemberton, Fryer and Mulkey; and that
the said Andrew failed to pay the first said note,
the said Seaborn J. has had to piy the said first
mentioned note, and that there is now due the said
Seaborn J. on the first of said notes the sum of
twelve hundred and seventy-five dollars thirty-one
cents, besides interest, and lie prays that the Eqwily
of Redemption of the said Andrew, and all others
claiming under him, may be baned and forever
foreclosed. It is on motion of Mulford Marsh, at
lorney for the petitioner, ordered that the said
Andrew Floyd do pay into this Court, at the next 1
term thereof to wit: on the first Monday in May (
next, the said principal and interest, and the costs *
of this application, or the said Equity of Redemp- (
lion will be barred and f rever foreclosed, and such
other proceedings be had as are usual in such cases.
