J'W’N'ew Cotton Ginning Machine. —Wo have
witnessed to-day an operation, novel to us, of the cleaning
of Cotton from the seed, by a machine made under the di
rection of O. T. Oglesby, Esq., of Geo gia. This machine la
different from the one now in use at the South, and although
we are not ourselves judges of the operation, or its product,
wc found that the managers of the manufacturing of cotton,
who were present, wero much elated with the appearance
of the cotton, and expressed themselves that if they could
get cotton in the condition that that machine left it, they
would be exempted from one of their most difficult opera
tions. The principal difference as we could learn, and as
was apparent to the uninitiated, be'ween this cotton and
such as they receive from the saw git,, is that the fibres are
separated and more fully opened without kinks or bunches
which are most difficult to separate and straighten in the
after working. We hope our friends at the South will take
means to try this machine both for cur benefit and their
own, as it seems plain that cotton in such a condition would
be worth more; and also from what tittle w e know of the
saw gin, the machine has advantages in durability, safety,
and economy over it. —LnuizvUZe Jou rtuil.
Lowell, Jan. 29th, ISO 2.
The undersigned have with pleasure examined a Toothed
Cylinder Cotton Ginning Machine, constructed by G. T.
Ogslesbt, Ksqr., of Georgia, and also the Cotton made by
it, and are much gratified with the results. Wo feel confi
dent that we have never before seen Cotton in so good a
condition to work ; and believe that if the Cotton which we
receive were ginned by such means, it would be far more
valuable and satisfactory to 1:3 than it is now.

HU WonnA-i are Healed.—John Shirley, under
date of Poseyvillc, Indiana, December 80th, 1851, says:
The Mustang Liniment has performed a great cure for mo.
On last Saturday week I by accident run a red hot rod of
Iron through my hand, entering between the thumb and
fore finger, passing through the thick part of my hand and
coming out on my wrist between the two largo leaders. I
immediately applied the Liniment and continued to use it.
On the Saturday next after that it wae well, and I went to
my work ns usual.”

the greatest Liniment in the world. He had a negro girl
that was nearly deaf and blind—his tcmedles did her no
good—a few applications of the Liniment cured her entire

a runnng sore for forty years ! It has not failed in a single

Jagg or, Treadwell A Perry—Gentlemen : —I have the
gratification of informing yon that your Tandewatef Wheel
was successfully put in operation at my factory last weet,
and It worked to perfection. Its simplicity, durability, and
uniformity of speed, are recommendations alone ; but above
all, its highest encomium Is the small quantity of water H
takes as oompored with other wheels. I have been using
one of Reuben Rich's Cwutre Tent Wheels, of three feet
and a half diameter, and eleven inch bucket, the discharge
openings measuring 400 inches. 1 displaced that and put
in one of yours of six teet diameter, with discharge open
ings measuring 270 inches, and yonr wheel run the same
amount of machinery that the Rich Wheel had driven, and
there was a difference in favor of yours of eight Inche* la
the depth of water in the tail nwe. I feel no hesitation in
recommending your wheel to all manufacturers and mill
owners, believing it fa the greatest wheel of the age. Wish
ing yon success in the introdneton of «» valuable an Im
