The proceedings of the General Court-
Martial on the trials of Captain Ross and Lieu
tenant M‘Avey, are appioved of. The material
evidence named on the part of the profecurioii
did not attend, and the Brigadier who arrett
ed them is abfeut'from the ftaie.
The Governor and Commander in Chief,
cannot forbear to observe upon this occasion,
that there is no crime which a soldier can be
guilty of more attrocious than disobedience
and mutiny, and the mere imputation of
which men of honor will always avoid.---
Captain Ross and Lieutenanant M‘Avey arc
discharged.

THE Board of General Officers convened
by order of the Governor, to inquire
into, afeertaiu and report the rank of the
Field Otficers of the State Troops, orders
and direfts, that the Infpeftor-General do
procure from the proper Offices certified co
pies of the laws aud resolutions of the Lc
giflature, refpefting the ettablilhmcnt of the
said troops* and the appointments of the Of
ficers ; and to have or tranftnit the fame to
the Rork Landing on the Oconee river, at the
time of the treaty with the Creek Indians, to
which place and time this Board adjourns.
Ordered, That the aregoing be publittied
Jn/he Gazette for the information of all con
cerned.

my mills a red- and white Ox,
marked with a Lvallow fork in the
left ear, and an oven keel and a
fwaliow fork in the right. He is
about four years old, and has on a
bell tied with a piece of cow hide
unranned. The above ox is on the
toll book of Dalziel Hunter, Eiq.
where the owner must apply to prove
his property.

LOST on the sth inst. on the road leading
from Rae’s bridge, towards Augusta,
about one mile from Mrs. Blanchard’s old
plantation, a Red Morocco Pocket Book , con
tain?, among others, the following papers, viz.
An obligation-of Mr. Lawrence Feebec
ker for 130 bulhels Indian corn ; a note of
Mr. Elijah Garrett for 30s. an order on Mr.
John Davis, Clerk of Burke county, for one
cow aud calf; on order on MeflYs. Bolton 8s
Newell for a balance of a quantity of feather
edge board ; an order on Mr Greenhow for
yl specie ; an order cn Mr. John Robert, in
Savannah, for 81. specie ; an order, on Mr.
Thomas Lamar for 500? feet of inch boards;
one order on Col. M‘Murphy for 40 bulhels
corn; another ou Col. Robert Walton for
the like quantity of corn, both drawn by
Elihu Lyman, Esq. an ordj'r on Mr. David
Vaughan for 455. and one letter of great con
sequence to the subscriber.
I therefore forewarn any person or person
from purchafiiig any of the above mentioned
papers, as I have never given any alignment
on either of them. A reward of One Gui
nea will be paid on delivering the above de
scribed book and papers to the subscriber at
Augusta.
