TWO Plantations in Columbia

Eiq. Sheriff of said county, that the said Jail
»* iulufficient, and out of repair so much, that
persons committed cannot be detaiued there
in with certainty in pursuance of any legal
. process directed to him or his Jailor aforesaid.
And the said John Clark having made oath
to the truth thereof before Benjamin Catch
ing, magistrate for this county.
NOW KNOW YE to whom these presents
may come or in any wife concern, that on the
ninth day of March, in the year of our Lord
one thousand Veven hundred and niney-two,
I John Hamill, Notary Public, by lawful au
thority duly admitted aud Sworn, living and
dwelling in Georgetown in the laid county of
Wilkcfc, at the indauce and request and on
the part and behalf of the said John Clark, and
also on the part and bchalfof all others who
may be concerned i 1 the premises, have pro
terted and by these prefeuts do most Olcmnly
protest against the said Jail of this county, as
being- insufficient for the detention and fie
keeping of pr.foners,- and against any Jail
breach or escape of any person or peifuns
who may be confined thereiu, aud alfj for all
damages which miy be sustained for or by
reason of any jai! freach or efcap-e as afore
faid.
Thus dene and protested at Georgetown
aforefaid, the day aud year aforefaid.
