WHEREAS in and By An Ad passed
the 12th day of December instant,

NOW THEREFORE, I have thought
fit to iffuc this my Proclamation, requiting
and commanding all persons who have fet
tled or reside on the South fide of the Oconee
river, on the territory acquired from the
Creek Indians, by the treaty of Fort Wil
-1 ini'un in 1802, or on the lands between
the Hue ellablifhed by that treaty and the .
Ocrnnlgee river, immediately to return with
in the jurifdidional limits of the State, and
enjoining it upon all others to dclill from
making /ettkmenrs on said territory, And
] do hereby require the Commanding Officers
cf the Militia of the Counties adjoining
said territory, to carry this Proclam a ion
and the aforefitid Ad into effed, so far as
to appoint persons for the purpefe of ma
king accurate lifts of all Trcfpaflers who’fhall
refute to abide the fame, designating the
inhabitants of this State from thqfe who
have fettled on said lands from other States,
which lifts are to he forwarded to the Exe
cutive Office authenticated in the manner
pointed out by f'ne Ad herein before recited.

he has a stoppage in his fpecch, and when
hurried, will draw down his eye-lids and
fvift his mouth open, before he car utter
his words; he has a down look, and at
times pretends to religion, about thirty
four or five years es age, was raised by
Mrs, Wright, in Liberty county, ami
conveyed to me by General Gunn, in x
, 1787 or 88 —At which time, he wasa tad,

Mrs, Willis,'* plantation, «n Ray’s creek,
in Richmond county, In which ncighbqr
hoon he may now be, though it is suggest- >
