sheweth,
THAT he ii confined in the common
Jail of this county, by vii-'ue of a
CA SA, wherein Robert Boyd it plaintiff,
and your petitioner defendant, and your
petitioner slates he is unable to pay the
money contained in said CA SA, by vir
tue of which he is detainedj that he is
willing to deliver up all his estate, real and
personal, fer the benefit of his creditors;
he therefore prays your honor* to grant a
rule of court, in terms of the aft in such
cases made and povided, and your peti
tioner will ever pray,

THAT he is confined in the common
jail of this county, by virtue of a
ca sa, wherein Richmond T. Colby is
plaintiff, and your petitioner defendant,
and yeur petitioner states he is unable to
pay the money contained in said ca sa, by
virtue of which he is detained; that he is
willing to deliver up ail elfate, both real
and personal, for the benefit of his credi
tors ; he therefore prays your honors to
grant a rule of court, in terms of the ad
in such cases made and provided, and your
petitioner, will ever pray,

HAVING formerly cautioned the pub
lic again# negotiating for my Note,
to Edmond Fears, for 1138 Dollars, on
which a balance of D. 91 50CW. is still
due, and having stated the cause of my re
taining that balance, viv, to meet certain
off.ets in ray hand, and for which I am re
fponllble especially, the cxpence* incurred
in strengthening Fears’s title to me, by ob
taining titles from the Sheriff, under a
judgment afligned to me, in order to fe
curc the property for which I have paid a
very valuable confederation.
The necessity or prudence for this n*a
fure will appear evident, from reading a
notice for file of said Note, by James Col
lins, Constable; the fame having been ta
ken to fatisfy a judgment obtained agaioft
said Fears—lt may also be neceffiry to
mention, that not one, out several
judgments were held against the said Fears,
at the time of hit making titles to me—
and the aforefaid caution is again repeated
under the circamftances formerly mention

NOTICE.
TWO new negroes were lodged in the
Jail ot this place, on the 12th of No
vember last, they appear each of them to be
about twenty years of age, they can neither
of them speak: Englifli, but from their
mark* appear to be of different countries
the one a slim dark fellow about five feet
five or fix inches high, and his country
marks on his bread, the other not quite so
tall or dark, and has his country marks of
eight small eruptions, forming two squares
on each cheek and chin, the former in bro
ken Englifti calls himfeif Jacob, the latter
Sugh.
The owner or owners will please to call
as soon as may be convenient, prove his or
their property, pay charges and take them
away.

THOSR indebted to the Subscribers cn
open accounts, arc again requefled to
have them either paid, or liquidated be
fore the firft of February next, otherwise,
whatever may then remain unsettled, will
indiferiminately be put into the hands of a
Lawyer for colleflion. To a number of
their customers, they feel obliged, by their
punctuality, but as many others have been
tardy in their payments, they are under
the neccflity of wholly putting a flop to
further credits : This it is hoped will pre
vent applications on that head, or the mor
tification of a refufal.
