Legacies to Mr. Fox — The recent legacy

won the Jockey Club putfe over the War
renton course, three mile heart, beating
Maj. Thomas Cock's gray horse Grog
grom, by Bellair. 30 th May , 1803, he
beat Mr. Benjamin Ward'* roan Jimcrack
over the Milford course, two miles, one
hundred and forty four yards, for 300 Dol
lars, and gave him thirty weight in riding.
The October 1803, he walked over
the course at Warrcnton, three mile* for
the Jockey club pujfe, no horse daring to
' start against him. The i zth November ,
1803* he won the Jockey club purse, over
the Scotlenncck course, three mile heats,
beating John Goodrum’s horse Presto, by •
Old Shark, Mr. A. Tucker'* marc by
Old Dare Devil, Mr Wm. Barne's gray
mare by Bellair, and Mr. Ford’* bay horse
Tuner, by Old Colleger. Democrat’s
next performance was over the Cambridge
turf in South-Carolina, the 18 th Movember,-
, 1804, where he won the Jockey club purse,
three mile heats, beating Maj. Porter's
Jack of Diamonds, and Mr. Meriwether’*
marc with great case. His last perform
ance was over the Augusta turf, the last
races, when it was evident he woukf have
won if the course had been a full mile,
thaugh he had been lamc|for fix day* before
the race, and carried odd* in riding, that
is an aged horse, and Democrat but five '■
years old, and it is well known the horse
that beat him is the best two mile horse
in Virginia ; so 1 flatter myfclf, that there
is not a man in Georgia, upon weighing"
every circumftancc on a mature confidcra
tion, but what will think Democrat is the
best four mile horse that was ever ftraihed
in Georgia.

NANCY, between ten and eleven years

was purchased of Samuel S. Scotti of S.
Carolina,'and it is apprehended tfjat she
has been taken off by fame defignifig per
son, if so, I will pay One Hundred Dol
lars on conviction of the thief and delivery
of the girl, or Forty Dollars for the girl
alone.

Jack) or Four-Dollars the fmgle leap, or
Ten Dillars to info re. If info red to be
paid mare is difeovered to be

of Aoguft next. Said Jack was fired by
the noted Jack* Royal Standard, and was
imported from Spain in 1732, and owned
and kept by Capt. Stephen Clark, of Con
necticut, New-England, and his offspring
has been proved to be the best ever railed
in America.
Pasturage for mares free, but not answer
able far accidents.
