Fire Saturday Night.
Saturday night about ii o’clock
au alarm of fire was turned in by
some one who thought that there
was a fire iu the Western part of
the city. The department re
sponded, and was making the
run when they collided with a
tree near the intersection of
Broad and Lewis streets, which
did considerable damage ta the
wagon. When they were ready to
continue it was learned that the
fire was Mr. J. E. Warlick’s barn,
about four miles from town,
which was completely destroyed
together with an outhouse aud the
chicken house.

There will be a business meet
ing of the Epworth League at the
First Methodist church tonight,

ter, Katherine, to Mr. Heyward
Parham Booker, both of this city,

The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. John H Cleave
land and numbers her friends by
her acquaintances.
The groom is a popu’ar young
man and holds a position with
the LaGrange Cigar Co The

happiness and prosperity.
Rivers—Durhim.
Last Thursday evening at the
residence of Rev. W. T. Irvine at
K o’clock occurred the marriage of
Mrs. Mollie Rivers, of this city,
and Mr J. H. Durham, of
Standing Rock, Ala., Rev. W. T.
Irvine officiating.
The bride is the daughter of
Tax Collector N. S. McCallav, aud
has many friends in LaGrange
where she has made her home for
several years.
The groom is a prominent far
mer of Standing Rook, Ala., and
is well known in this city and
countv.
Mr. Hicks Entertains
Wednesday evening Mr. Ralph
Hicks entertained several of his
friends at supper at the Elturose
Hotel, iu honor of Miss Minnie
Floyd, the guest of Miss Corinue
Jarrell.
Later the party was entertained
at ths Orpheum Theatre. Mr.
Hick's guests included Misses
Minnie Floyd, Coriune Jairell,
Nell Broom,
Messrs. Rob. Hutchinson and
Frank Hutchinson.
A Dance At Elk's Home.
Tuesday evening the young
men of the oity gave a dance at
the Elk’s Home, complimentary
to Miss Winnie Floyd, of Fair-
burn, the attractive guest of Miss
Corinue Jarrell. The string
band furnished music for the oc-
cason. At midnight a delicious
ice course was served.
