The convicts under the supervision

Barn Burns.
We regret very much to hear of the
misfortune of Mr. Ed Hardy to have
his barn, feed, horse and cow to bum
Sunday morning.
The fire was discovered about four
o’clock but was too far gone to stop
burning. He also had a good buggy
and wagon to burn, the hogs escap
ing.

Mrs. Landreth, who is critically ill,
but Monduy morning she was some
better and we trust she will now re
cover.

day.
Mr. Charlie Adams of West Point
was shaking hands with friends here
last Friday.
Miss Dora Cline spent several days

Salem ginning has opened up but
somehow our cotton folks are not
looking so enthusiastic as usual, ev-t

Mrs. T. C. Floyd and son, Robert,
returned Sunday from an extended
trip to Waverly Hall, Catania and
Bayard, while gone they visited the
families of Prof Theodore Floyd and
Mr. Jesse Armstrong of Waverly
and Mr. J. E. Pate of Bayard, near
Catania.
There was the regular week-end
services at Flat Skoals Saturday and
Sunday conducted by Rev. W. W.
Rivers of Columbus. A number from
Salem attended. j
Quite a number from here also
went down to Union to preaching on
Sunday. |

turned from a visit to Miss Sadie

Mrs. Dewitt Floyd of LaGrange,

er, were visiting Mrs. Came Colley
and other relatives here the past few
days.
Mrs. Floyd was for a long time a
resident of Salem and all were glad
to greet her pleasant face once more.
Miss Louise Morgan entertained
some friends- Sunday, P. M.
Dr. Robert Bryant and party are
at home from a couple of weeks trip
to South Georgia and Florida.

wit: A certain tract or parcel of

being in the town of Hogasnville, in
Troup County, Georgia, described as
follows: One hundred and fifty (100)
feet running north and south on street
known as Covins Lane running from
Main street to Cotton Mill, due west
two hundred and forty (240) feet,
thence north to lands formerly' owned

'aforesaid street, and bounded on the
north by land formerly owned by Mrs.
