Everybody was greatly excited ov
er the burning of Mr. T. W. Cun-
ninghnm’s store and Messrs. Cal. and
Chns. Harmon’s barn at Stovnll Sun
day. The tire was discovered about
ton o’clock but nothing was saved
at the store and only the stock were
suved at the barn.
Rev O’Keith dined with Dr. C. M.
Nickle at Texas Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. S. Crouch, from Lu-
Grange, attended services at Union
Grove Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kitchens, from
Waresviile, were the guests of Mr.
and Mrs. J. L. Hill Sunday.

attended court in Franklin last week.

trip to LaGrange Saturday.
Mrs. J. L. Hunter was the guest*

Death of Mrs. Baird.
Sorry to note the sad deuth of Mr*.
J. T. Baird, at Texas, which occurred
last week. The bereuved family have
our depest sympathy.

and Mrs. W. II. Middlhrooks Satur
day night and Sunday.

Fuller, made a business trip to
Hamilton Monday.
Mr*. Lu Davis has been absent
several days attending the bqdside of
her mother, Mrs. Gufi Moore, who is
quite ill 'at Blue Spring*.
We are glad to note that Mr. May-
Ron Bryan is rapidly recovering from
injuries received from the kick of a
horse.
Mrs. Lilia Willis and Misses Cor
nelia and Lovie Smith accompanied
by Mr. C. C. Jones of Whitosville
motored to the association in Stovall
the past week in Mr. Jones’ car.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim O’Neul were
guests of Mr. Lucius Sands Friday.
Mrs. Scott Wilson continues quite
aick, we are sorry to hear.

Mr. John Frank Thompson and
Curtis spent Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Floyd.

Mrs. J. T. Pearson returned Satur
day to her home near Sardis having
spent several weeks here with her
daughter, Mrs. Janie White.
Notwithstanding the cry of hard
times our citizens are putting in
some nice improvements around their
premises. Mrs. Jennie Sturtivant
has had a nice barn and spring house
built and* Mr. Lije Anderson has had
some out-houses and a garage built
on hip lot.
Mrs. Alsie O’Neal and baby, Ear
nest, spent Monday at Salem central
with her brother, Mr. Brayden Davis.
Mr. Lucius Sands was a dinner
guest at Mr. Grayson Bryans last
Sunday.
Mrs. May Simms and children of
Chipley spent several days the past
week with Mrs. Jennie Sturtivant.
Miss Sara Satterwhite left Friday
to accept a position at Gillis Springs
in South Gieorgia. She will have
charge of the music and expression
classes in the institute at that place.
The weather man ha* bean handing
out a very unpleasant brand of
weather for more than a week—here’s
hoping for something better later
on.
