WOMAN’S CLUB NOTES.
The Bazar, which was to have been
held this week has been postponed
until next week; So many of the
chairmen of committees for the bazar
had charge of departments nt the fair
and were unab'le to finish their pre
parations, it was' deemed wise to
postpone it. ‘
It will be held in one of the Ed-
W1LDER-D1X.
Mr. A. S. Wilder announces the engagement of his daughter, Nolle,
to Mr. Eddie Reese Dix, the wedding to occur in the near future.

The silver tea at the home of Mrs.
W. E. Morgan proved quite a success
both financially and artistically. The

The prize for top score, a bar pin,
was won by Mrs. Harvey Mobicy.

The party was in celebra
tion of the hostess' eighth birthday.
The house was artistically decorated,
a color -scheme of red and white be
ing carried out.
Dainty favors were given the little
guests. There were merry games,
both indoors and on the lawn.
Each guest brought a gift to the
little hostess, who received wearing
a dainty frock of lace and ribbons.

Mr. E. D. Hale, who has been dean
of the LaGrange Female College for
over a year will leave Monday for
Marietta where he will enter the
North Georgia conference, pus will
be a source of regret to his many
friends in LaGrange.
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON CLUB
ENTERTAINED.
An event of Wednesday was the
pretty party given by Mrs. E. T.
Moon in honor of her sister, Miss
Jessie Winston of West Point. The
highest score was made by Miss
Kittie Willis. Vases of beautiful
chrysanthemums decorated the rooms
where the guests assembled. A salad
course, followed by a sweet course,
consisting of charlotte and cake, was
served.

Mr. Frank T. Evans, a former La-
Grange boy but now of Jacksonville,
Fin., was shaking hands with friends
in LaGii-angc this week.
Mr. Frank Hammett of the Univer
sity of Georgia, attended the Stud
ents’ Convention in 1 LaGrange last
week. Mr. Hammett had as his
guests during the convention Miv.R.
M. Guese, General Secretary, Univer
sity of Georgia Y. M. C. A., and Mr,
Ed Dillard, of Montezuma.
Mr. M; P. Word was a visitor to
Rome last Monday, ’that was Mr,
Word’s birthday (we don’t know
whether it was his sixteenth or not)
and he took advantage of the oc
casion to visit his relatives.
Mrs. Abner Callaway and Miss Ella
Cary left Tuesday for Columbus
where they will attend the W. M. U.
convention.

The state convention of the Stu
dent Volunteer League closed Sun
day night after having brought both
pleasure and profit to students and
faculty* The various meetings were
all well attended, and sincerely en
joyed and appreciated. The recep
tion given to the delegates by South-,
ern and LaGrange Coljegea waa -a
complete success, cementing old
friendships and forming new ones.

vention were held ia the Find. Baptist
church. Dr. Ferster of Wealeyan
Female College conducted the exerda-

Miss Ethel Stephens of Shorter

were all very glad to have her With
us, and wish that she might have
stayed longer.
Rev. W. B. Curtis was a visitor
at Southern Sunday evening.
Miss Gladys Willie received a
surprise visit last week from her
mother, Mrs. Willie of Jacksonville,
Fla.
Rev. Mr. Layton of Roanoke, Ala.,
