Races of men are always In oonflict when,
ever they corno together. There can be no
mixture. This is not In the order of nature.
as some believe, all of the races are of a
common origin, that origin cranst have been
so many millions of years back that to us it
is as though they never had been one. Two
of the races show no marks of progress, and
these two ore perhaps the oldest—the African
and the Asulralian. No explorations of Afri
ca or Australia have discovered any eviden
ces of n social or oivll condition among those
people above what they are now. This is not
so with any other race. No other seems to
have been created and destined to live to the
end barbarians, ns except where a higher
raoo not only lifts them up, but every mo.
ment sustains them above that level. With
the Indians we find the remains of a belter
condition enjoyed by them long before the
white umn came to their oountry. They
reached the nemo and had subsided before we
knew them. The Mongolians, too, of Eastern
Asia, though they have made no progress in
thousands of years, yet have a civilization of
their own, ^|iicli, in some respects, will hoar
n favorable comparison withourown.

Tin: Island or Fin.NANno Po.—The
Spaniard is a cruel, vindictive and bigoted
creature. The political prisoners of Cuba
me being sent to this miserable Island—The

u late t’uban meeting in New York Mr.
Paul B. Bit t'hnillu made n speech in which
lie gave the following description of this
island. ,
Vfo lmro heard theory from Culm of wid
ows and orphans. War and revolution is
raging in Tuba, and poor people are suffer
ing from Ihc barbarities inflicted upon them
by these tyrant*. Ho wan in the country to
which tho Bpnntsh authorities are exiling
the revolutionists, anil his flfcli shuddered
when he read that these men were sent to
Fernando Po. He could stand a great deal
of American climate, but that of Fernando
Po oil tho west coast of Africa is tho moat in
sufferable. It rains all .the time, and is ex
tremely hot, and, from the decayed vegeta
tion that sends forth poisonous exhalations,
is the most unhealthy spot in the world.
The English first had it, hut the Spaniards
about ten yegrs ago claimed it, and tbe En
glish conceded it to them becau*y qf its un-
healthiness. It is to be hoped •uavitho rev
olution will succeed, so that tho poor Cubans
will I# proudly rescued from their exile.
He pretested against the outrage of sending
political prisoners to Fernando Po. It is an
outrage against which every man ought to
protest, especially every citizen of'this great
republic—for, alter all, Cuba is a part of
iinr-country. i<tae is at our own doors.
Cubans are Americans born on this conti
nent. Ho tdncercrly honed, therefore, that
all tvei-6 united and actuated with the same
feeling of svniputhy for Cuba, and all actu
ated with tho same desire to give her materi

therefore, call for three cheers for tho

Tho rulo of Puritanical Radicalism
in North America will take its place
in history by tho siuo of witch burn-’
ing,
A fow centuries ago, not only the
Puritans ot New England, but many
fanatics, and knaves playing on fanat
icism in England^ Scotl&ud, and va
rious parts ofthe continent of Europe,
were hard at work eradicating witch*
crall; burning ohl women at the slake
or ducking them to death in mill
ponds in order to convict them of tho
crime of ridfttg broomsticks and
briugiiig cattle plagues and blights to
crops.
Wo laugh to-day at the gloomy
folly of those people, without stopping
to consider that follies more unpardon
able and ten thousand times more per-
nieiousin their results aro enacting
in oiirown generation aud country.
Witch burners merely destroyed a
fow old women who had lived out near
ly the whole term ot their natural
lives. Puiitauical-JacobiuiHtn Iras do
liburately set to work to destroy the
God given .instincts and. destinies of a
great race.
The league between faualicism and
knavery, whose coming was predicted
by tlohu Randolph, is an accomplished
fact, aud behold tho result.
Wo pass over tho.J m.. Ibown war
lately waged under th ; i amice of re*
storing the Uuion, und r um? to the
acts of Puritanical-Jacobinism since
events have placed its votaries in full
possession of the continent.
Their crime of makiug war upon the
South may bo forgotten, for different
generations liko different centuries, do
not find much time to lament over
wrongs that are not brought home to
themselvjg^^
Rut tho crime ofthe party iij power
in rttempting to legislate away all
race distinctions will never he forgot.,
ten nor forgiven. It accomplished, it
will go down through the centuries
tainting tho generations yet unborn,
and bringing scorn and detestation up
on tho memory of its perpetrators.
It is evidently the tendency now of
the Puritanical-Jacobin leaders to
weld into a huge, slimy, mongrel muss,
the various races that inhabit theeon-
tinont of America north of tho Isth
mus of Darien, and tho West India Is
lands.
The design of anuexing Cuba, res**
urrected by Forney's Press, shortly
before tho inauguration ol the present
revolt there, is now openly proclaimed
at Washington. Hayti, Puerto Rico,
Jamaica, and tho lesser islands with
their nasty mongrel pop Utions will
speedily follow. Then win eMe.v.
ico and Guatamala, Willi m. iu. 'e-
rial welded into the body po • ot
the Continent what will become - .' its
futuro?
Tho white portion of such a tna**
cannot fulfil its high destiny while so
chained to the putrid carcass ol mon -
grelism. It can have no government
adapted to its wants—no government
representing its instincts as a race and
supplying its wants.
If tho Jacobin programme is carried
out, the future ot what was once the
United .Slates will he no better than
was that ot the Mongolian Empire es
tablished by Tamerlane.
It la the language of the party iu
power to profess to laugh at all fears
expressed of four millions of negroes
being an element of danger to thirty
millions of whites. 1 ... ,
