FaUs of Coosa, Alabama.
THE desirable sight which for a long time
hag occupied the attention of the many
thousand men of enterprise who have beheld its
advantageous and unrivalled location, by recent
acquisition of the Creek territory, in Alabama,
is becoming an object of such great notoriety,
that the proprietors have determined to offer tbe
same for sale, in Lots of thp ordinary size, on
Mofyday, the 4lh of February. 1833.
Persons who have visited the most attractive
points, where an interchange of the products of
the interior and of foreign commodities take
place, are unanimous in the declaration, that
this place possesses pre-eminent advantages over
any other in the Southern country. Situated at
the extreme head es navigation on the Coosa, a
river navigable to this point by steam boats of
the largest size, for convenience and health
its location i9 unsurpassed, presenting to the eye
a perfect unbroken plain, having a declination
sufficient only to convey off the superal.-nndant
water. Jn from extending to the river, is a bold
Bluff, graduating on its upper and lower extre
mities, into the finest natural landings—on each
side supplied with never fading streams of ex
cellent water—towards the interior, terminating
in gently undulating eminences, offering the
most desirable situations for private residences
But all these considerations sink into inSignifi
cance, compared with the unrivalled advantage--
which it possesses for an extensive trade. Ne
cessarily the only depot for the supply of a
widely extended up-country with merchandize,
it must of consequence become the mart for the
productions of ttie fertile vallies of the Coosa
the Tallapoosa, an t tbe Upper Chattahoochie,
together with the salubrious anti very produc
tive uplands of Talladega, the latter of which,
in all human probability, will be peopled by a
more dense population than any country of lik*-
extent south of the Potomac. The entire bill
country of these regions, abounds in quarries of
Marble, Limestone, and in tact all kinds of
mineral wealth As respects the contemplated
connexion o( the waters of the Tennessee with
these of the Alabama ; ifbyaCanal itwilihave
its eqi'rouchemeut; if by a Rail Road, immedia
tely at this spot will terminate one ofits extre-
The well known advantages of this
place renders further remarks unnecessary, oth
er than to say that to the capitalist it affords ‘
desirable opportunity for profitable investment
to the merchant it offers advantages of an ex
tensive trade; to the mechanic, the allurements
of what must soon become a flourishing town,
not of ephemeral existence, but of a< permanent
and daily increasing importance ; to the plan
ter, a desirable and pleasant towYr residence,
convenient to the alluvial bottoms of the .Coosa,
the Alabama and the Tallapoosa. In addition
to which it will undoubtedly, at no remote pe
riod, become the location of the State Capital,
for which it offers greater inducement than any
point on the eastern waters of the State.
Terms of payment—One and two years. Sales
to take place on tbe premises until the Lots are
disposed of.

PROPOSALS
For publishing in the Town of Hilledgeville, Ga
(During the ensuing session of the Legisla.

V'itiß ahtva-nwAt,
Os the proceedings of the Legislature of Geo,
- AND
HISTORY OF THE TIMES,
BY JYT. D. J. SLADE.
Os Macon Georgia.
“ Lege tolum, sci vis scire totum—Read all, if you
■would know all.”
TH E people of Georgia are much in want of
a medium es intelligence which will
promptly transmit to them the “Proceedings”
of their Legislature. We are not only general
ly, hut individually concerned in all acts of leg
islation, because these acts involve personal as
well as political rights, between which thereex
ists a most intimate connexion. It is the inter
est then, of every man In the community to be
timely acquainted with the action of our repre
sentatives upon these rights. This is a desidera
tum—to supply which the Journal is intended.
At the present we labor under much inconveni
eme for the want of it. For near, and some
times more than three months after the expira
tion of the Session, the Laws of tbe State, with a
few exceptions, are as a “sealed- Book” to the
great mass of the people; and frequent, such are
injurious effects produced by this delay, that
men have been known, who, in obedience to a
preceding, have actually violated a subsequent
law which had been reversed or modified—not
knowing that a new had been substituted for an
old law.
In addition to the entire proceedings of the
Legislature, the Journal and History, will con
tain tl.e general intelligence of tbe day, and its
interest will be increased by faithful reports of
the transactions of the important Redress Con
vention of Georgia which contemplates sitting
in iYlilledgeville, the ensuing session The De
bates in the Convention, as well'as those in tbe
Legislature, will be regularly and correctly re
ported f for which purpose arrangements are
making with a capable and experienced Steno
grapher
The Journal And History of the Times,
will be published daily, and the Legislative and
Conventiona’Proceedings of each day laid in
extensio before the public on the subsequent
morning, and immediately transmitted to any
part of the State to which the paper may be or
dered.
1 he large and interesting- mass of information
which this Publication will contain, and the great
expense which must be incurred to carry it into
operation will require a liberal patronage, and
such a patronage the editor flatters himself will
be extended to him.
It is unnecessary to enlarge on tire conveni
ence and important utility of such a publication
to members - fthe Legislature, in enabling them
to ascertain immediately the precise state of any
measure in which they are interested and to keep
their constituents advised of the progress of pub
lic business, without the abstraction of time and
attention from their special duties, expended m
etter writing.
Terms— T/ie Journal and History of the Timas
will be published daily with anew type, by ma
chinery, to be expressly procured for the pur
pose and on good paper, and will be put to sub
scribers at the price of $5, per session, payable
on the reception of the first number.
Qjp These to whom subscription lists will be
sent are respectfully asked to lend their exer
tions and influence to the undertaking, and to
make a return of any subscribers which may be
obtained, by the HMA day of October. They are
particularly requested to do so, that the Editor
may he enabled to make the proper arrange
ments, and to furnish promptly the first numbers
to each subscriber.
M. D. iTsLADE.
Will continue to publish the Macon Advertis
er, as heretofore; and assures his patrons and
the public that so far from the interference or
conflict of the above publication with the inter
est and management es the Advertiser, that lie
designs and believes that the former will great
ly improve the latter. The Advertiser shall
lack for none of that attention, which the editor
flatters himself has entitled it to the kind and
cheering patronage which has been so liberally
extended to it.
The Advertiser will continue to be published
weekly in the summer and tri-weekly in the win
ter, at the price of $5, per annum, payable in
advance.
Land and .Gold Region Lists of the Drawing,
in addition to thc^ Legislative and Conventional
