NEWS EXTRAORDINARY.
Hallo ! my friends, once more I return
That here of my postponement you may learn,
It was expected by who read and saw
Last 24th December my scheme would draw
The Union Hotel Lottery, in truth intended,
For reasons purely just havebeen suspended,
And like an honest man, both good and true,
Will sooner wremg myself than one of you.
The Golden Land’s drawing stood in luy way,
On which account I choose a future day.
When Fort'iine shall your patience surely
starch
With Prizes fair, the second day or March
My scheme is good, intended to relieve
Me, from kind credit, no one to deceive
That they your friend does owe, and you that
draw
May find, I’ve justice done and ask no more.
The favor needed, and to be explicit,
Is ra purchase quickly, all deficit
Os tickets few remaining now on hand,
That must produce you houses, slaves or land.
I beg you’d read and view so fine a scheme,
And as you wish you’ll have as well as dream
What’er you draw you’ll have the full amount
And what is better, not the least discount
I tender my best wishes with the scheme and
plan,
And all the hearty thanks of J. B. Bateman.
