TO THE PUBLIC.
WHY the Union Uulel Properly Lottery, is
olFiied to the public! is frequently ask
ed 1 ; and that the whole milter is not well enough
particularized.
The Proprietor finding himself involved—
Mortgaged'his ‘landed Estate to one, and his
Negroes to another, (two of the oldest) of his
creditors. With this view that if he could nor
he abl> to raise the mortgages, that [he would in
such events take the bestcourse with his Pro
perty to pay his debts. Or in other words pay
the other creditors as well as the Mortgagees.
Accordingly with him as with others, big reason
able views failed. And in order to do justice le
others of his creditors, as well as the Mortga
ges ; He has offered his property iu the plan
tiow before the .public.
The-propert/’has been valued by four highly
amt disinterested gentlemen at
and divided into four tfioUsand-whole
Tickets affive dollars each. Reference to the
Scheme for the Prizes and their disruption.—
Also the creditors appointed, under seal, six
highly distinguished and disleresied gentlemen
to attend as Assignees,and-thepublic sanctioned
; the while’Sic.
NoVv if the Proprietor shall fail by the second
! of next month to sell Tickets enough to pay the
j (wo Moifgages, (which is less than half the
\ whole amount dfthe said stock.) then the Lot
j tery must fail, aud'but little Ihare will he be able
i to pay than the said, Mortgages and he be left
it.Jeiif with a wife and six small children with
neither pi' n perty nor credit. But on the other
hand, If lie *eJls his Tickets sufficient and
above to pay (be Mortgages then bis Other cre
ditors will be materially benefited, and lie will
he enabled with hissiOckto pay his debts. Arid
tho’ he will have no property, ltd will be clear of
debt; and he trusts reclaim his credit.
The great anxiety of the proprietor to Sell his
Tickets—rests on (his, lo do justice to bis otltfr
creditors as well as his two Mortgagees, and to
pay his debts with a property at least worth
more than it is offered at
If thou wert indebt instead of me
Then I would buy of thee,
Bat I am indebt instead of thee,
Then come and buy df me.
And by said purchase let me say
* You make a fortune every day.
Then Hasten, the Tickets to buy,
Or my Credits, me will nullify !1 ! !!
