extensive Encampment in this neighborhood, to
commence on the second Monday in May next,
in which aH the Volunteer Corps of Infantry in
the State are respectfully invited'to join us. Ihe
time proposed for the continuance oi the encamp
ment is ONE WEEK.. A beautiful location has
been selected, commanding an extensive view of
the town and surrounding country An arrange

Whereas, the circulation of Bank Bill
of a small denomination, has been produc
tive ot fiaud and loss to tlte public, and
has a tendency to- prevent or teiard the
General and speedy restoration of a spe
cie currency.
Be it theiefore enacied by the Senate
and House of Representatives of the Slate
of Georgia in general assembly
it is hereby enacted by the authority ol
the same, That from and afier the firs'
day of September next, it shall not be law
fnl for any Bank or body corporate, io
vo.-tnd «ith banking privileges, or person
or persons whomsoever, within the limits
<-« this Siaie to issue, emit, pay away, pass
or lirculate any bank Bill, Note, Ticket,
of paper, purporting to be a Bank Note,
or of the nature, character or appearance
ofa Bank Note, or calculated for circula-j
tion as a Bank Note, either of the Banks
of this State or of any other State, of a
less denomination than Five dollars.—
Provided , that nothing herein contained
shall be so construed, as to make it unlaw
ful for any corporation or person or per
sons whomsoever, to present for payment,
oj- in any other mode, transmit for ledem
tion lo any Bank either *of this or any o
ther Stale,any Bill or Bills ofsucl) Bank,
of the denomination aforesaid, remaining
in circulation after the ime aforesaid, with
the view and 1 in tlte mode to stop the
future circulation thereof.
Sec. 2. And ho it further enacted by
the authority aforesaid, That any Bank
nr Corporate Body, or person or persons
whomsoever,, offending against the pro
visions of tho first section of this act,
-shall forfeit the sum of One Hundred
Dollars, to he sued tor in the name of
the State, by any licensed Attorney, on
the application- of any informant cogni
.zant of such offence, who shall be a com
petent witness on the trial, and recover
ed by an action of debt or on the Case,
in any court of competent jurisdiction in
ibis Slate, with full costs, orne half whete- ■
of when recovered shall be paid to the
use of the State, and the other half to
the use of the informer.

the expectation that this object may be
accomplished. He was got by lire impor

New York by Mr. Barclay for $3,000;)

chy—his grand dam Sally Jones, by im

Sec. Ist, Be it ordained by the City Council
of Augusta, That all Fodder, Hay and Oats
brought to this city in wagons or carts for sale,
shall be vveighed at the scales prepared for that
purpose near the lower market.
Sec. 2d. Beit further ordained, That it shall j
he the duty of the clerk of the lower market to
superintend tin: weighing nfall Fodder, Hay and
Oats, at all hours of the day, from sun rise till
sun set. And tha party selling such Fodder,
Hay or Oats, shall pay to thesaid cleik fifty cts.

Sec. 3d Be it further ordained, That every
person who shall violate the provisions of this |
