THE subscriber having recently takeif out
letters patent from the United States for a
new principle of applying Animal power, which
I call the Accelerator; the discription of this
machine is such that it can be applyed to Mills

I offer the following statement to the public to
show that 1 have proved the power of my ma
chine, I erected a temporary saw mill, with one
saw, to which I put 2 horses, (the horses were not
accustomed to work in a circle,) and sawed thru’
a fourteen inch log with more ease than two
horses can Gin in the common mode of applica
tion; the horses being removed, eight men worked
the inacbi'.e and cut at the rate of thirteen hun

of the tin •- is lost in returning the log and put
