Opposite the rily of Savannah, belonging to th e
estate of the late James Mossman, esq. containing
six hundred acres, or thereabout*, four hundred
of which are under complete river banks, and in 1
fine order for planting; the remainder is alio near
ly completed, with a substantial river bank, with
trunks for draining die land. This estate is now
reatrictfd from the planting of rice under a ape
rial contract with the corporation of the city of
Savannah, but from the esperiments that have
been made in sugar cane, cotton, com, wheat,
and other small grains. This land is found well
suited for the cultivation of all those great staple
commodities. In the vicinity of the most flour-
tshmg city in the -southern states; this land maybe
most profitably used in rearing and fording of.
stock of all kinds, by the cultivation of grasses,
turnips, carrots, and various ocher legume* for
the fattehing of cattle and sheep, for which the
market of Savannah affords a ready demand, and
constant consumption, and which mutt encrease
yearly with the growing prosperity of the city.—
This valuable property possesses many other ad
vantages, fooa its contiguity to the city of Karan-
nab, and mprc particularly as connected with the
navigation of the river, from Ftre-fatbom Hole to
town, where vessels of more than 12 feet draught
nf water are precluded from loading ar the city,

the front river channeL Oh the back river, and
mmediately opporite the town, this property con

may be easily emstracted, for the reception of
