tion to this sum, the state holds Bank Stock,
tin which 8202,000 haw been paid—and there
is due to Georgia from the national government
for western territory 8936,558, a thiid of which
is ready for payment—amounting in the whole
to 81,364,863. * There is yet owing on the Bank
shares owned by the state 8550,000 (of which,
8258,000 must be immediately paid)—and of

An election will be held at f.ie Excnange on Monday,
the 6rh of January next, from nine to two o’clock, for
twelve Managers for the government of the Poor House
and Hospital, for the ensuing year. The following gen*
tlemen are appointed to superintend the election:—
William T. Williams, ’James Morrison. Calvin. Baker,
Oliver Sturgcs, John P. Henry, Joseph Habersham, Jon
athan Battelle and James M. Wayne.
The members of the society are requested to go pre
pared, to pay up their annual subscriptions The gener
ous and humane, who have not yet subscribed, are soli
cited to come forward and contribute to the support, of . V
