Mr. Davis respectfully gives notice, that he will open
a school fur the instruction of young ladies and gentle
men in PENMANSHIP, on Tuesday, the 7th January,
at the German Church, court house square. From the
superiority of his system, and the advantage of long
experience, Mr. D. isconfideiit he is able to satisfy any
who may patronise him; indeed he pledges himself, tint
any person of common capacity, and suitable application,
under his tuition, shall be made to write a fair hshd;
peculiarly calculated for beauty and expedition, in thirty
lessons. Any of the ornamental hands nowin use,’ will
likewise be taught if desired—A specimen of liis profes
sional skill, exhibiting a variety of hands, may be seen at
th. Exchange, which the public are requested toexamine,
and where subscriptions will be received; or by tiie
subscriber at captain Fash’s, York street, near the court
house. Terms, including stationary, 14 do(lars,-or if
any prefer furnishing themselves, 12 dollai's for thirty'
lessons of two hours each, which may be received between
nine in the morning and nine in the evening, as is
convenient to the pupil.
A class of young ladies formed as soon as eight or ten
