A specific and lasting cure for Fever and Ague.
T HIS worthy remedy earnestly repels the slur
of being a quack medicine, it having been
the result of many years study, experience and
labor, iu the medical practice and observation of
Fever and Ague. It is composed of such medi
cinal principles as were considered most fit to re
store the harmony ofnetion between the stomach,
liver, and the outer important functions of the
system,»Jie loss of which harmony is evidently the
immediate cause of the disease. It sueediiy’pro-
mutes a regular and healthy appetite which is
generally entirely destroyed nr. rendered very
precarious; by which effect, vigor and strength is
soon afforded to the whole system. It must be
apparent to nil. that a medicine possessing these
peculiar virtues, is useful in a great variety of
complaints. By renewing the healthy action of
the digestive organs, it has proved itself of re
markable benefit iu dyspepsia, depraved appetite,
benrt-hurn, water brash, flatulency, jniindice,
night sweats, dysentery, bowel complaints, and
alf other affections of similar origin, but it is in
the treatment nfFevers. and especiallv iu Fever
and Ague, or Remittent Fever, that its powers
have been principally tested, and with those who
have seen its useluhiess, it is pronouuced sover
eign to all remedies heretofore discovered fo
those diseases. It has also been used as a pre
ventive, by many who were subject to n periodi
cal recurrence of the chills and fever, and it has
uhvnys warded off the apprehended attack. It
was deemed not improper to uccompany tho
vegetable febrifuge with a few of the many une
quivocal certificates politely furnished to tlie pro
prietor,corroborative of the foregoing statements.

causes of its being rejected by many patients.
This is the reason why so many experiments
hnvo been made in order to discover some mode
of disguising its taste, so thnt it might be taken
with less repugnance; but hitherto this lias been
but imperfectly effected, and always by addition
uf some active substance which modifies its pro

cannot occasion tlie slightest renugnunce, and

T HE diseases of the hair among us are those
which occasion baldness and gradual fulling
off of tlie hair, and thinness of it—the causes of
which arise from ninny disorders, especially fe
vers; perspiration, which extend* the nores, re
laxes tlio roots, causes the huir to fail oil', and of
ten occasions totul baldness. Baldness has ever
been esteemed a great defect. It generally arises
through violent exercise, f/om whence arise per
spirations, which too frequently occasion a loss
oftho hair—it relaxes the roots—the acidity pre
vents tho fluid acting on the hair, which occasions
it to waste. For instance, after a violent perspi
ration the hair becomes dry, it feels extremely
harsh, and no elasticity iu it whatever; therefore,
to prevent its taking an effect on tho hair, Aral
nth the hairdry with n cloth, then apply the Cas-
undo Oil to the roots of the hair, so that tho skin
of the head muy bo moistened, and remain so af
ter each time of perspiration.

a Fleur do Lis is printed on tho accompanying

The celebrity of the Luchin Cordial being such
ns it is, it is scarcely necessary to add that it is the
