Rowand’s Tonic mixture, or
Vegetable Febrifuge,
A specific and lasting cure for Fever and Ague.
miHS worthy remedy earnestly repels the slur
JL of being a quack medicine, it having been
tho result of many years study, experience nnd
labor, in the medical practice aud observation of
Fever and Ague. It is composed of such medi
cinal principles as were considered most fit to re
store the harmony ofnption between thestAmnch,
liver, nnd the otbor important functions of the
system.lheloss of which narmony is evidently the
immediate cause of tho disease. It speedily'pro-
motes n regular and healthy uppeliln which is
generally entirely destroyed or rendered very
precarious; by which effect, vigor nnd strength is
soon afforded to the whole system. It must be
appnrenlto nil. that a medicine possessing these
peculiar virtues, is useful in a great variety of
complaints. By renewing the healthy action of
the digestivo organs, it hns proved itself of re
markable benefit in dyspepsia, depraved appetite,
heart-burn, water brush, flatulency, jaundice,
night sweats, dysentery, bowel complnints, nnd
all other affections of similar origin, but it is in
Uie treatment of Fevers, and especially in Fever
and Ague, or Remittent Fever, tlmt its powers
have been principally tested, nnd with those who
have seen its usefulness, .it is pronounced sover
eign to ail remedies heretofore discovered fo
those diseases. It has nlso been used as n pre
vetitive, by many who were subject to n periodi
cal recurrence of the chills and fever, nnd it hns
always warded off the apprehended attack. It
was deemed not* improper to accompany the
vegetable febrifuge with n few of tho ninny une
quivocal certificates politely furnished to the pro-
irictr.r,corroborative of Uie foregoing statements,
‘'or further accounts of its great usefulnessrsoe
pamphlets accompanying each bottle.
A fresh supply of the above valuable medicine

Dr* Jcbb’s Rheumatic Liniment.
T HIS highly approved und long celebrated
application for llhemimtic Disorders.is care
fully prnffnred according to the original recipe ol
Sir Richard .Tnbb, Bnronnl, Physician to her late
Majesty nnd Royal Pumily. It is doubtless true,
that the excruciating pain, tho decrepitude, de
formity nud premature old nge, which are the
usual attendants and consequences of tliis dread
ed disorder, are suffered by many persons from
utter despair of a cure, or frequent disappoint
ment in the efficacy of the numerous pretunded
antidotes used to effect this purpose. But those
who havo made trial of Dr. Jebb’s Rheumutic
Liniment, oven ill obstinate coses of long stand
ing, and of tho most severe character, havo re
ceived essential relief, and many havo been cur
ed in a fow days, some iu twenty-four hours, ns
a number of persons ill Boston nnd vicinity, who
were formerly afflicted with tho Rheumatism,
have very filly nnd satisfactorily testified. Cer
tificates are in the post-ession of the Proprietor,
which prove the most thorough and surprising
cures by means of this most powerful Liniment,
in cases where other approved applications hud
totally fuiled. The Liniment is also used with
signal success, nnd may bo confidently recom
mended for chilblains, bruises, sprains, numb

T HE Pronrielor’s opportunities for extensive
practical observation have enabled him judi
ciously to discriminate such varieties of vegeta
bles as are really worthy of culuire. from the infe
rior, or, as is not tiufrequenl, worthless varieties
oftlin same class, which have been perpetuated
through inexperence; therefore, in making tins
selection, he has excluded many sorts usually
found in the Catalogues of those who are mere
tenders not practical growers of seeds.—And he is
not sure that Uie variety might not lie still further
reduced with advantage; nt any rate this is ample
for any garden, howevur extensive, and fully
adapted to the nicest taste.
As to quality of Uie seeds, the proprietor wishes
it to lio remembered, that what fe sold hy him is
of hit own growth, (with hot slight exception,)
therefore warranted with entire confidence, that they
will, upon trial, prove to lie far superior to most
of foreign importation, or such ns ure casually
collected in the United Slates.

Jayne’s Hair Tonic—Hall*.
T HERE feuuthiug like u good bend ofliuir to
set off' a man’s pate. As tlm poot says—
•*—"l’is the robe which curious nature weaves
To linngupon llio bead, aud does adorn
Our bodies."
To bo sure a bald bond is becoming enough in
a judge, or a minister, for it looks grave nnd ven
erable, and tho' it may not bo an unerring evi
dence of wisdom, yet it is a decisive proof tlmt
the individual in not hair brained.—Young per
sons, especially young beaus and hellos, nru rath
er averse to a premature dUrohvment nt'their
roofs; und lie who offers a remedy to preserve
that important oriiniuent must bo looked upon in
tho light of u benefactor. And such u one is Dr.
Jayne, whose hair tonic Ims done wonder* In coax
mg tho hair out on barren spots, und preventing
its falling off'. There is no qunckerv about this
article. \Vo have seen evidence ofits efficacy.
A gentleman who has been bald for a number of
years, by the use of this tonic, has got quite a
flourishing growth on the fete wcate place. Those
whose hair, liko false friends, is lejving them,
will find this an excellent preventive. To young
bucks wlm aspire to bushy whiskers, this tonic
must bo iiivnluublu—und to young ladies wire
would preservo their glossy ringlets, it must be
tho great desideratum.—Portland Transcript.

Quirk’s Cassada Oil.
T IIEdwenses ofthe hair among iib are those
