Dr. Liimimtft* Aromatic Vege
table Bitters,
For Jaundice. Indigestion. Weak Stomach, Ac.
T HESE Bitters are composed of vegetables
of the most innocent, yet specific virtues,
and have been highly extolled by thousands who
luive experienced theirefficacy in the above nam
ed complaint*. Tliey are in fact the best *to-
nmchic and corrective the vegetable kingdom fur
.nishes. They are highly useful ns a preventive
against fever, nnd are very serviceable at all sea
sons ofthe year, more particularly in the spring
and summer months, when persons of bilious
Imbit* experience that total loss of appetite, disn
greenhle listlcssuessnnd relaxation ofthe s) stem.
They strengthen the stomach, procure a good up-
petite, promote digestion, purify the blood, and
restore die invalid to his original strength and
vigor. Most ofthe Bitter* with which the mar-
kut is now supplied arc nothing more than cheap
groggy preparations, sold ot a high price, and
bought mainly for their intoxicating properties.
These Bitters are superior to any that are, or
ever have been offered to the public. Being
punpently aromatic, they are particularly recom
mended to seafaring persons as nn antidote a-
gainst the Scurvy. Persons laboring under the
infirmities of oldgge, will find these Bitters to
prote n wholesome, agreeable and invigorating
stomachic eordM; increasing the appetite nnd as-
sistingdigestion in • remarkable degreo,removing
those low spirited and trembling sensations, the
sure effect ofa wintof tone in the system. They
are peculiarly adapted to those who are troubled
with Dinrhcua, or Weakness ofthe Bowels, Ac.
prevalent iu the summer and autumnal months.
They will be found in all cases ofthe following
description to give relief, viz: Jaundice, Weak
Stomach, Costiveness, Excessive Weariness,
Loss of'Appetile, Dullness mid Oppression, n
propensity to Sleep, Bitter Taste in the Mouth,
l.nnthing of Food. Sicknessat the Stomach,Gen

Gelatine Capsules of Pare Co-

T HE Copzvia Balm is, of nil the medicines
employed in combating the chrouical and
acute gonorrhosal affections, also the blennortKea
called whites; the only ono, the specific action of
which lias never keen doubted, and to which
physicians have in consequence given the prefer
ence; but its nauseous taste and smell are the
causes of its being rejected hy many patients.
This is the reason why so many expeiimente
have been inude in order to discover some inode
of disguising its taste, so that it might he taken
with less repugnance; but hitherto this has been
but imperfectly effected, and always by addition
nf some active substance which modifies its pro
perties, and thus destroys its chemical constitu
tion and its physical character. I therefore offer
a mode of administering it in such a state that it
cannot occasion the slightest repugnance, and
this without submitting it to any alteration. My
method consist* in enclosing it in the Gelatine

Human Hair.
T HE diseases ofthe linir among us are those
which occasion baldness ond gradual fulling
off of the hair, and thinness of it—the causes of
which arise from many disorders, especially fe
vers; perspiration, which extends the pores, re-
luxes the route, causes the hair to fall off, nnd of
ten occasions total baldness. Baldness has ever
been esteemed a great defect. Itgenemlly arises
through violent exercise, from whence arise per-
•pirutinns, which too frequently occasion a loss
ofthe hair—it relaxes the roots—tho acidity pre
vents the fluid acting nn the hair, which occasions
it to waste. For instance, after n violent perspi-
ration the hair becomes dry, it feels extremely
harsh, and no elasticity in it whatever; therefore,
to prevent it* taking on'effect on the hair, firsl
rub the hairdry with n cloth, then apply the Cos-
sado Oil to die roots of the hair, so that the skin
of the head may lie moistened, and remain so af
ter each time of perspiration.

RownntVs Tonic mixture, or
Vegetable Febrifuge,
A specific and lasting cure for Fever and Ague.
FTiHIS worthy remedy earnestly re pels the slur
X of being a quack medicine, it having been
the result of many years study, experience and
Inbor, in the medical practice and observation of
Fever and Ague. It ia composed of such medi
cinal principles as were considered most fit to re
store thebnrmony ofnetion between the stomach,
liver, and the other important functions of the
system.the loss of which harmony is evidently the
immediate cause of the disease. It snnedily'pro-
motes n regular and healthy appetite which is
generally entirely destroyed or rendered 'vere
precarious; by which effect, vigor nnd strength is
soon afforded to the whole system. It must be
apparent to all. that a medicine possessing these
peculiar virtues, is useful in a great variety of
complaints. By renewing the healthy action of
the digestive organs, it has proved itself of re-
markalile benefit in dyspepsia, depraved appetite,
heart-burn, water brash, flatulency, jaundice,
night sweats, dysentery, bowel complaints, and
all other affections of similar origin, but it is in
the treatment nf Fevers, nnd especially in Fever
and Ague, or Remittent Fever, that its powers
have been principally tested, and with those who
have seen its usefulness, it is pronounced sover
eign to all remedies heretofore discovered fo
those diseases. It has also been used a* a pre
ventive, by many who were subject to n periodi
cal recurrence nf the chills nnd fever, ana it has
always warded off the apprehended attack. It
was deemed not improper to nccompnny tho
vegetable febrifuge with a few of tho many une

ELLIS’ COMPOUND
Krcosote Tootli Wash.
Heeommtnded by the Faculty,
T HIS compound will he found serviceable in
arresting nnd preventing decay in tenth;
keeping foe teeth ami gums in a healthy nnd dean
condition; sweetening the breath; removing tar
tar, and relieving pain caused by carious teeth.
Few discoveries in modern chemistry promire
more important results than that of Krcosote, by
Dr. Rniclienhnch, nn eminont chemist of Blaus-
ko, in Monrovia. It is a highly rectified liquid
product, obtained from wood, nnd isniintogou* to
charcoal in its antiseptic properties, hut far more
powerful as a corrective nhd preventive of de
cay. Charcoal, notwithstanding it* well known
cleansing properties, is objectionable ns n denti
frice, on account of it* insolubility, nnd the risk
of minute pnrticles remaining between foe teeth
and producing injury. Kreosote, on foe contra
ry, cannot be liable to this objection, and posses
ses. to a much greater extent, the antiseptic and
purifying properties of the former. The trials
which have been made with it, in tills country
and Enrnpe hnve proved its efficacy.
It is strongly recommended hy tho Faculty ns
the best preventive against cane* in teeth. To
sweeten foe brenth, rendered offensive hy decay
ed teeth, the use of tobacco,or other causes, and
to arrest decay itself, it stands pre-eminent.
EUU't compound Kreotole Tooth tVueh, com
